In CSM you have to use the original gp4.exe in the Grand Prix 4 folder..

What you have to do is patch a gp4.exe file with the 4Gb_patch.exe and put it inside the CSM MOD in, for example, the "Files" folder and export it
with the "swap.ini" file to the GP4 root folder. This way, the CSM MOD will replace GP4.exe when it runs and will let you use it in the MOD.
Then upon exit, it will restore the original file.

If you're using CSM, just put the remove2gblimit.cap file in the Data/Patch folder of your mod.

In my MOD use the remove2gblimit.cap file and i test with the GP4.exe original+remove2gblimit.cap and in other part the GP4.exe patched with 4Gb_patch+remove2gblimit.cap
I compare the two files with a program called Winmerge used to compare files and internally exist differences in a line of the code (line 4).

I used "remove2gblimit.cap", but there was no difference, the FPS drops continued. I tried with the 4gb patch, but it ran the same as the friend mentioned in the first post.

But even with a PC with 16GB of RAM, RX580, 12-core CPU, do you need to reduce the graphics quality to run without lag?

It's not always the power of the CPU, but rather the source or video card

I did the swap.ini procedure, and performance improved. Then I'll do tests, measuring the fps before and after, ram and cpu consumption, and gpu.

Superman, could you provide the line you need to use the swap.ini? Seems like I can't figure it out

Ok.
I explain how to do it (my way).
First, copy the original GP4.exe file to the Windows desktop.
Run 4Gb_patch.exe and select the GP4.exe file you copied to the desktop to patch.
Then, go to the CSM MOD and, for example, go to the folder: "MOD Name"/Data/Files and put the patched GP4.exe file there.
Next, go to the folder “MOD Name”/Settings and open the swap.ini file with the text editor.
Inside, and below the list of lines just below the one that says "[swapfiles]", enter a new row that says like this:

File1 =Files\GP4.exe,GP4.exe

Always be careful that the number you assign to the beginning of the row just after "File" maintains the numerical order with the other rows that are under "[swapfiles]"

This should work for you.

@superman77m, After some days, your method has helped performance for CSM Mods, and no errors for modified exe either, greatly appreciated :-)
