I have a question, when I installed mod 4.1 from the 1994 season, the tracks are not in order. For example: I choose Interlagos, which is the first of the season, but carries the Australian track.

You will need to download the track pack which is available separately

I'm doing some tests with the 1993 mod, but after installing it, it keeps asking for the game CD. I use the same base installer for the 1994 version, which does not require a CD.

You cna also use Daemon Tools and simply mount a virtual drive without loading anything inside and voilĂ  !

That's what I did, I used Daemon, to emulate the disk. I just thought it was strange, because the 1994 mod doesn't require a CD. The 1993 mod opened, but the textures of the cars were all white, I'm checking what could have happened.

The 1994 mod includes a no-cd patch.

The original file is here: [www.grandprixgames.org]

Just pop it into your mod's ....Data\Patch folder.

There is an update to this mod in the works, but we won't see any new cars in this particular update. There are car livery tweaks and other things being cooked up, I'm quite excited to share it when it's done.
I am trying to finish off a number of other projects before returning to the cars in this mod.

What is in it depends on how much time I can devote towards this project and how soon you want it.
I'm open to suggestions and/or help.
The absolute latest it will be released will be the 1st May, but it may be much sooner than that.

I don't know what you have in mind but here is one suggestion:

My main concern to simulate championships is that many times some pack tracks do not fit the real time on the mods.
Usually I need to make some changes in the MD to fit real times and to be competitive with AI cars. Maybe I'm a bad driver :-) but today I have no idea about that because it's difficult to compare with other drivers that could use different configurations.

My suggestion is define the semi-pro category with MD default settings reference to a competitive championship. If some user wants to increase the difficulty he can change category and car settings in the game.
This would make it easier to GP4 fans install the mod and the track and start a championship on the semi-pro without change any car settings or even MD/Physics (time consuming).
I know that part of the fun is to change the car settings but for rookies or people with not much free time it's a problem.
I think it would be nice to share times in the forum based on this standard defined.

We can have some experience or general pilots to test the mod and publish here the results to compare and define what we need change to track MD or car physics.

Concerning sounds if you want my help to improve it let me know, I will be glad to help.

Graphics I think it's almost perfect.

Best

Jose

That's interesting. My expertise is on the graphical side.
It would be nice to have the physics/performances/MD updated, but I need to delegate that to a willing volunteer.

I could be a volunteer but need other experience drivers to have a reference, like I said I dont know if Im a bad driver :-) .

Process suggestion:
1) Install GP4 base from FONGU
2) Install the current 94 MOD + Tracks + standard GPXPATCH configuration
3) Enter each track on qualifying mode and post here the best time on dry track with the same car ( important to know if use keyboard ou wheel ).
4) Make the necessary changes to MD+ Physics
5) Test again until have reasonable results

Needed volunteers:

Drivers
Physics experts
MD experts

Im not an expert to Physics and MD but can try to help

Best

Jose
