His past credits include:Grand Prix 3 Grand Prix 4* Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness * Smartbomb * B-Boy

if he says no eax can't be done for GP4 lan multiplayer, this would settle it.
Nice that there´s still contact with the GP4 development team. Maybe they can help us to improve some sounds and multiplayer functionallity.

Responsibilities included liaising with Geoff Crammond (the original author of the Geoff Crammond Grand Prix series) regarding the conversion of the PC assembly language to the PS2. The code base for the Grand Prix games is almost entirely assembly language. I also dealt with configuration issues on the PC version of GP4 and also helped out on the Xbox version.

I'm wondering (no phun intended ;)) if some of them would be surprised that someone is still trying such things in a (kinda) old game.
if they don't respond that's ok, was worth a try I think.
It maybe an old game but to hear from someone that still plays it, would be an honour
besides they mention GP4 in their experience.

Definitely it worth a try.

Maybe, this answer in the interview with Geoff might give you a clue about it:

I got the tyre rumble working in multiplayer, version 1.0 unpatched

[drive.google.com]

changing gp4.exe to gp4.ini and using textpad editor search for GPAudio::To3D()
by putting this on the next line:- GPAudio::To3D() and adding space

Nice work. :)

My Grand Prix 4 Files

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
Nice. Did you test it on version 1.02? Not work the same way?
no news from the programmers and looks like gpxpatch guy is out to, not much happening there.
Just have to live with no reverb/crowds in MP, that's cool.
The folks that created gpxpatch really did a great job. Under the Engine.wave
section in gpxsound tab, i changed the min distance to 20
sounded great hearing all the other cars, made an impact on immersion.
