What are ".ti*" files ?

Hi everyone.
20 ans after first running the game, i discover files I know nothing about !
I've been doing to cleaning in my gpsaves folder, and noticed I have ".ti*" files, with name & date matching my championship season saves.
(saved a file season.cha, i also have season.tia)
Any idea what they are used for ?
