Tips for changing the languageChanging the language (or even editing the "f1system.txt" - which you are warned to do in line 1 of that file) may be a bit tricky, so I will share with you my experiences:
1) After exiting GP4 with "save changes" on, the "f1system.txt" is encoded depending on the language chosen:
- a) in english, german or italian (italiano) language it is encoded in UTF8.
- b) in spanish or french (español or français) it is encoded in ANSI.
This may cause trouble, if you have edited the "f1system.txt" file and did not care for the encoding.
2) If inside GP4 you have changed the language using "save changes" checked, then in the "f1system.txt" besides the new language line the save_state is also changed:
save_state_on_exit = true
If you now run GP4 again and try to change the language again, it will not work!
You first have to save GP4 with "save changes" unchecked (thus setting save_state_on_exit to false again). After that you can change the language again.
