No-CD Drive Tweak [released][v1.0]

Hi everyone,

Something that has been bugging a lot of people, including me, for quite a while is the annoying message box that prevents you to run the game if you don't have a physical CD drive in your system. The work-around, for the longest, has been to mount any ISO to a virtual drive, which I still find pretty annoying. This tweak disables that message box, allowing the game to run when no physical CD drive is present. It shouldn't interfere with any other tweak available but, as always, use at your own risk!

Thanks a lot Diego, one more great improvement from you.
For some reason, the 2021 MOD by Carl (and mine which is based on his) crashes with the tweak. Both MODs have a lot of contents in the patch.ini. However, in other MODs I have without so many contents, there was no crash.

In which folder do I need to drop the file, please ? In the root GP4 folder ? Because I still have the CD message popping

For non-CSM users you can use Wad Controller https://www.grandprixgames.org/read.php?4,1151963,page=1
For CSM users, you can place it into the Data\patch folder in each of your mods.

Hi everyone,do you help me please make no cd in gp4? I download tweak…in Mod Csm is ok,i copy the file into folder patch…while,the file nocd.ini where i must copy? Please…
A last question, If i want to play to start original game with a GPXpatch ,no Mods ,gp4 ask me need cd rom….i do not want to use virtual iso to play....please...help me , many thanks.
In a MOD season exemple 1993 no cd ask me, in an original season Gp4 with GPXpatch...ask me CD Rom....

In CSM, you only need to put the .cap file in the patch folder.
The .ini folder is an alternative to be inserted into the patch.ini, but you don't need this if you are using the .cap file.

For wad controller, use the .ini file to modify the GP4.exe.

Ok perfect, i put the file into a folder patch CSM and is ok...but if i want to play with a regular season GP4 original, there is a tweak to play without mount a virtual Iso ??
In this case tweak is of for a MOD season with GP4 with CSM.....
But if i want play regular GP4 version an start from patch?

I think you'd need to put it in the gpxpdata folder

In folder gpxdata a i put the no-cd.in file but doesn't wrk....game ask me CD ROM....
Please help me...i go crazy....!!!

You could install a blank csm mod template from the csm menu that has essentially nothing in except stuff what you add to the patch folder.

I put the no-cd.cap into a folder i create...and ok.....GP4 start witohut ask me CD ...and original season...great...
What i can do to put an image in the template i create??? and rename it??

Sadly after 4 days it is once again requiring the CD! I have tried mouting ISO but there is none, I have even deleted and reinstalled the patch with no luck

Are there any work arounds here please?

Put the GP4 decrypt in your GP4 folder and patch your GP4.exe with the öggo patch. You can use Wad Controller to patch your GP4.exe
