run-time error -2147024770 (8007007e) (CSM)

Happy Sunday all,
I've suddenly run into a problem with CSM. GPxPatch runs perfectly, but when I try to open CSM I get the error code run-time error -2147024770 (8007007e). This is a clean installation - I reinstalled this morning because I'd found that CSM mods were no longer loading (starting through CSM was just loading the vanilla GP4 strangely).
I'm running Windows 10.
I'm sure I'm missing something blindly obvious - I've never run into this problem before, so if anyone has any bright ideas I'd be really grateful!
