GPGSL Rd 5 Italian GP – QualifyingWe are back once again. This time the qualifying for the main drivers will now take place. Who will we see take pole position here today? We’ll just have to wait and see. Time to head trackside as the cars can be heard starting up in the garages.
Weather ReportIt is Elleker who is the first driver out for group 1.
And he starts off with a pretty decent laptime.
Scala tries his best to please his local fans.
A very good lap from Majumdar sees the Tyrant driver move into provisional pole.
He doesn’t get to stay there long as reigning champion Kederer goes to the top.
Karda crosses the line well over a second down. No idea what the reason for this would be as the cameras seemed to have missed it.
So close to taking provisional pole for Gilson in the SCR.
Parachki in the other SCR isn’t quite as fortunate.
O’Neill makes it a Alpha 1-2.
Pedersen goes into 3rd with a really good lap.
Russell in the Christel comes across the line and slots into 8th.
McCarthy pulls out an extremely good lap to snatch provisional pole away from Kederer.
Gustavo is out first for group 2.
A blistering lap from the MMM driver sees him take provisional pole away from the Demon driver.
A solid lap from Williams sees him inside the top 10 for the time being.
Just like Karda before Sakata ends his lap a second down on the fastest lap.
Greidanus manages to put his MAC inside the top 10.
Both Mistrals end up inside the top 10, with McClure slotting into 8th, which becomes 9th when Silva slots into 5th.
Hinz puts in a great laptime and slots into 3rd.
Vilela is unable to match the same sort of pace shown from McCarthy, ending up 12th fastest.
That is a fantastic lap from Buitenhuis. That makes it a MMM 1-2 provisionally.
Despite having a good chunk of boost at his disposal De Bruyker is only able to go 4th fastest.
It’s only 12th fastest for Rodriguez. Probably not what he was hoping to achieve here today.
This isn’t what Kederer would be wanting to see right now.
The run-in with Majumdar completely destroyed Kederer’s chance at going for pole and no doubt he won’t be happy about it.
An improvement from Parachki sees him move up to 16th.
Karda improves, but it isn’t enough to move him up from the last row.
Another improvement, this time for Scala.
Despite having to deal with Kederer Majumdar somehow was still able to make an improvement on his previous time.
Gilson is able to improve and moves up into the top 10.
No movements for Russell after he improves his time.
Up to 14th for Williams.
Sakata improves and moves up into 18th.
Greidanus improves and just barely misses out on making it into the top 10.
Silva brings it across the line and improves on his previous time, which sees him move up a position.
A brilliant lap from Vilela sees him improve all the way up to 3rd.
Hinz improves up to 6th, just barely missing out on making the top 5.
So close to getting another pole position for De Bruyker.
All runs have now been completed and here are the final standings.
