Shall I buy GP4?

Hi all. I'm new to the forum and wanting to get into the Geoff Crammond games. I've always relied on rfactor for my F1 racing but I'm thinking of buying a copy of GP4 from ebay. Before I do I'm curious to know how difficult it is to get the game running on Windows 10? Thanks.

It's pretty simple, I didn't have any problems at all

Does it work in compatibility mode or is there a patch?

A complete run down on installation is in the GP4FAQ.

Ready to play ISO download here.
Includes all necessary patches.
(Ignore site warning) Site has been inactive for some time.

Follow the mortal's guidelines.
I particularly don't recommend buying through ebay or other similar sites.
They are usually unscrupulous people who steal updates from others and profit from it.
Here is everything you need for free and help from kind people;-)

Ah ok gotchya. Thanks for the warning. So the ISO downloads out there are legit? I'll read the FAQ's and if I run into trouble I'll ask for help in the forums. Thanks.

The ISO in the link I posted is considered safe, as for others I cannot say.
You will also need Zaz Tools and GPx Patch

In my case i did NOT need compatibility mode. Not even running it as administrator was necessary. Neither for GP4 nor for ZAZ Tools. The newest version of GPxPatch should handle any compatibility issues without any additionals settings.
I'm running GP4 on Windows 10 Pro with a 9th gen Intel processor.

There is fully prepared GP4-Version on GP4 Central containing GPxPatch and the decrypted gp4.exe. Installation takes a couple of clicks and you are ready to play.

Ok. I'm having trouble with ZAZ and GP4 won't launch. I've mounted the ISO and installed the game and gpxpatch, but when I try to launch update an error pops up saying "Unable to retrieve list" and none of the applications in the ZAZ Tools folder are working. Am I missing something?

open csm, go to "file" then "Options" and there uncheck "Auto Update" this should fix the error message

When I click CSM it just tells me to select GP4 exe but when I click it it says "Not a decrypted GP4 executable". I do apologize, I did read the FAQ and it said to turn off auto-update, I just don't fully understand how.

you can download a clean decrypted gp4 exe 1.02 here [gp4db.com] . Copy this exe over your existing one and then start csm. After this, open csm, go to file, then options and uncheck the auto update. That's all
