On this rainy sunday, i made a short video comparing GP4 to Codemaster's F1 2019.
It's not so much about clean driving, rather than just showing both games on the same track.
In my opinion, GP4 can definitely compete against modern F1 games.

The only important question is: What do you expect from a F1 sim racing game?

I am playing on both. Excepted actual F1 rules, safety car and qualifying sessions, I have still got much more fun on GP4 than F1 2019 because of the AI, ramdom failures or crashes from others. More realistic and entertaining + all the tools and programs that the devs have built to allow us to update cars, tracks etc.... This is priceless.
Even if Codemasters has improved the game, it has not reached the experience and level of a F1 simulation game like GP4.
Not that F1 2019 is bad but the the feeling of the driving is completely different. The difficulty also. You have to find the correct settings and then to fight on track to make a very good lap. A little error can ruin your race. A real knowledge of the track is required for braking and taking curves at the best high rate speed. That's what makes GP4 more exciting to me...

Carl your video is just awesome and very interesting to show how an old game of 2002 can keep up or is better than a new one. F1 2019 need 60GB HDD space, I thing(crazy)! GP4 needs maybe 3 or 4GB.

By the way, you have one dude who dont like yr video. It can only be from codemasters.

I agree with all the above Arnaud. Codemaster F1Games can be described as" Pretty as a picture but just can not cook!" What I mean by that is that the whole packaging thing with the modern graphics and lighting are nice but the whole game for me has a feeling of incompleteness compared to GP4. The things that get me about Codemasters is that for years we have been calling for spectator view ( AI racing against AI) and decent replays that are not in the one person mode ... they are just completely deaf to it. I just don't think that they are capable.
Its okay if you want to experience the whole F1 thing from Rooky to Champ but if you get bored or you just want to look at the pretty graphics you can not just switch to AI racing AI and sit back and enjoy. Naaaaah! like I said it all looks golden but underneath even after all these years as the video shows, its just not enough to conquer a mighty Champion like GP4.

The names are not correct and my tyres have some texture issues.

The names issue you have to correct with changing performance file 2019. Just do it with gpxpatch.exe.
For tyres you have to change something in graphic.cfg file, but i don´t know, what.

It all depends on the missing performance files which will be added in the final version of the mod.
In this regard, the final version will be released when more material is available.
In the meantime I will release a new update shortly.

F1 2019 v1.5 avalaible at 1st post!

This is a middle version between the previous and the final which is always expected.
There are various changes but right now I don't remember them all ...
However I recommend deleting previous versions.

GP4 will always have a following that even Codemaster games won't have, some people don't like GP4 because of it's limitations, but I aways go back to GP4 time and time again over other sims you also don't need a powerful pc to run it, which helps!

I've made a SF90-Steering Wheel. The display is kept in "GP4-Style". An improved version (f. e. less white borders) will follow later...
Feel free to edit and improve it in any way you like, all the original images are included in the file.

There are also camera-settings included, which allow you to see the full mirror.
