I like ice skating, in fact i love ice hockey, but ive got EA's NHL series to do that in, but thats a different story altogether. I've only played the demo of F12002, and just hated it. I liked certain things about it, but driving it particularly on the keyboard was awful IMO.

Yeah, the default physics are totally crap. I only played GTR 2002 when I bought it. But when I downloaded new physics, it made it a fun game.

But the tracks and AI are rubbish too.

I just had a championship race @ Brazil, and you can feel the bumps there! But the AI were incredible! I nearly crashed because I had to keep steering whilst looking in my mirrors evereytime I went down the S/F straight (I was first). One time, RS swerved side to side 4 times to try and pass me! The AI and tracks really do smash (to quote someone) F1 2002 to pieces. I've herad that F1C doesn't have the tracks any better, so I'm dubious about buying it.

BTW, where did you get a physics file for F12002?

I have been inspired by this thread to resurrect the game and I have updated it to 2003- bloody marvellous cars, honestly and separate helmet shapes. The level of detail on cars and helmets is something else. I love the bumps and the feeling of speed- although I keep coming back to GP4. There is an AI fix..don't know how much it helps, but GP4 is easily the winner here.

@ Go_Alesi
Yeah, the default physics are totally crap.
naah...not at all, it provides some good challenge for us to handle the car well, unlike GP4 coz the cars in GP4 looks more it was 'glued' to the track surface
F12002 will be great if you can master the handling of the car without the assistance =)

More challenging sure. More realistic? Wouldn't it be great to get a real f1 driver to test them both out and give a verdict. One more thing, the replays in f12002 are awful compared to gp4, jerky and unreal also the cars some times seem to glide above the track. They look beutiful but the action is bad. What about a physics patcH?

HINT: The slower you go in the corners, the quicker laptimes you get in F1 2002, ive just done a 1:19.574 at Imola without physics updates!

Can someone driving f1 2002, and other ea racing games tell me what kind of drivers he uses? I get lots of errors, so I want to try other ones...
