GP4 2017 mod gratis or not?

I have installed this wonderful game after so many years and reading various forums find out that the mods are on sale?
why?
on gp4forever i had found this: Gp4 2017 Mod v0.9-rc.1 but they deleted the downloads.

Tell me what is happening and why?

How can I install this mod? do I have to buy it on ebay?

Some people are leeching the free works of the community and selling them for personal gain, mate. It´s been happening for a number of years, now...

I find it an absurd situation ....

By doing so, the modders make the game of the sellers. in this way they were "authorized" for the sale.

so i can not find 2017 if not paying ...

I'm amazed, after so many years of absence, I find they have ruined this wonderful simulator.

Is not there a good soul that can help me?

My personalized GP4 classic 2017 MOD - (textures on cars & helmets) customized to mimic the 2017 F1 season, designed over the standard GP4 car shapes.

Check back here regularly, as I may frequently update the cars.wad file with newer minor revisions.

The MOD uses a combination of helmets from various helmet sets [such as Helmets by RauL0ng0, DaiMOn, josekast, etc, some adapted and modified by me] and 2006 Arai Helmet Shape, by Eugénio Faria.

Sponsor logo ideas are from various sources...mainly from the F1 Teams' official web sites.

Pirelli Tyres are by Excalibur.


This works best with the accompanying '2017performance.txt' file, which can be loaded via GPxSet tab in GPxPatch.

INSTALLATION:

1). Unzip the archive. (Preferably with 7-zip, the free archive-ing util).

2). Simply back-up your cars.wad file, and replace it with the cars.wad file from this archive. Unzip/copy the 2017performance.txt and DNAMES2017.nam files to your GP4 'GPSAVES' folder.

3). Load the game via gpxpatch, and then on the GPxSET tab, tick the "Performance file" option and browse to where you unzipped/copied '2017performance.txt' and select the file.
This ensures that the performances and race results in the sim will be pretty similar to what you might expect to see in real-life F1 in 2017.

4). OPTIONAL: From within the game's driver selection menu, you can load DNAMES2017.nam. This just ensures that the driver names/helmets matches up with the new cars, in case the game is run without gpxpatch.

5). OPTIONAL: If you wish to adjust the drivers' sitting, helmet & steering positions, you can use Lo2k's TeamEditor, but be aware that this will also permanently modify your GP4.exe file, so be sure to make a back up first.

Maybe later this year a 2017 MOD still will come up . Don't buy any MOD for selling in the EBay, the quality is very bad and it goes against the " soul " of the GP4 community which is to make stuff for the game for free

@rracunis is true what you say, the season of f1 is almost in the end, who would / wanted to buy it will have done it.
They could make it punk since the games are now made.
many years ago on this forum and on others there was a great deal of software and free modify for everyone. I missed about 9 years. Now it seems to have become like a war .....

Newadays more and more mods aren't released publicly anymore, because 'they could be sold on ebay', these modder say. But now, we still see the mods being sold on ebay. But in the opposite of earlier times, now all GP4 users are forced to pay for it! That can only mean one thing:

The bad guys cannot be leechers of mods not being released and that guys who are selling mods on ebay and earn a lot of money by it cannot be leechers. I think you all know, what I wanna say by that. In my opinon those modders not releasing their work anymore anticipated the leecher-problem and now some are selling their own work on ebay and are boosting their revenues by not releasing their works anymore.

Is any other opinion more obvious than this?

I honestly think that your speech is very good, also because now the mod is on sale, what sense to keep it private?

Anyway, I'm reading a fierce war even among the modders, everybody claims his job, get angry if someone uses helmets, livre, cockpit and circuits ....
where did it end, the sense of community and sharing?

No one will find this 2017 MoD for download, nowhere for a simple fact (offer money or beg? no chance at all) ... is not available. Only a few (counts on the fingers) have a copy.

I am a member of the moderation group there. The mod unavailable at GP4Forever is nowhere available for download ... This one that is in GP4Italia site is a personal initiative of someone I sincerely do not know who it is. Which I affirm is that it is not the same MoD, after all the compiled by me is intended for use with the CSM tool aka ZaZ GP4 Tools and this "other" is for file replacement. Ok? I hope I have clarified your doubt and that of others.

something for this... your mod is compilated etc etc CSM etc etc ... but for who?
my doubt is that you are an old user here in this forum like me , and you know that on these forums (here, gpitalia and others) was not so. The MODDERS were competing for who made the change, helmet or livery more beautiful ......

It is not that he is for very few. Those who have a copy are the beta testers (say so) and these are trustworthy people in my understanding.

So it is not available anywhere, because when it was still in the testing phase there was this absurd situation of an unscrupulous person selling and making money with material does not belong on the EBay website.
