Missing GP4

After many years away from the forum, I decided to have a visit to see if it was still going. What resulted was a total wetting of my appetite for GP4.

However I don't think a return is possible as my Laptop has no disk drive (Modern day problems). So I have no way of installing GP4 And I don't really want to fork out for an external drive.

Anyways it's great to see this community is still going strong and people still making mods etc. Such a cracking game! Shame that the F1 Manager seems to have stalled slightly.

So I tried the download tonight, extracted the files. Clicked on the .exe file to start the game and I get a notice saying I need to enter the CD, but the download says it includes the update and decrypted CD patches :-S


EDIT - I think it's because I have no CD/DVD drive and have to use an emulator with GP4 ISO CD image? However I've used my download limit from gp4central so I'll have to wait until tomorrow night

Well, I wouldn't want to be responsible for someone missing out on GP4 time, so your download limit has been removed. Go ahead and download the ISO.

I recommend WinCDEmu to mount it, that's what I use as I have the same situation of no CD drive. But there are plenty of other similar apps out there as well.

Wahey cheers for that! Got it working and started putting some cars in and that. Took me right back I had WinCDEmu downloaded ready and waiting haha

One question, where's the best places to get cars? GP4DB and GP4Central both have a great selection of cars. Just missing some of the older ones I'm missing. I used to use Simracingworld but that doesn't seem to work these days. I also tried searching the forum but didn't have much luck

I have most recent cars on GP4 Central. GP4DB has many mid-2000s. So it depends what era you're looking for if you can't find what you're looking for on either?

I was looking at doing late 90's. However I've now started a 2006 save.

I guess for seasons like 1996, late "naughties" then it's best to stick to the full mods?
