Hey guys, important notice: I will be in the USA from July 14th to (ideally) August 3rd. I'll try to post in here but I can't promise as my schedule is quite tight.

May have to sack you at the end of the season John ;)

As you say, with these long straights and our team boost, I'm hopeful of a good result from you and Jack.

Mixture of holiday and something else. First a couple of days in Dallas (Duh!) for vacation, then I'm going to travel to Santa Fe to give a talk at a conference, after that back to vacation business in the form of a road trip from Santa Fe to Los Angeles together with two coworkers.

GPGSL Rd 14 German GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello and welcome back to Hockenheim, where we are getting ready for the start of the race. We had a fantastic qualifying session yesterday, in which we saw Milos Ancevski take his very first pole of his career. He’ll be hoping to convert his pole into a win, but first he’ll need to watch out for those who are behind him. So then, let’s head trackside as the cars can be heard returning from their warmup lap, which means we are just about ready to get the racing underway.

Weather Report

Here we go. All cars are now lined up on the grid, and we are set for a start. Ancevski starts from pole, and has Copeman alongside him. Once the lights go out, it’s go time.

They’re off!

Ancevski is already having to defend from Rodriguez on the run down to the first chicane.

However, the One driver is able to make his move on the Shadow and move into the lead.

There’s been a collision at the rear of the field as there is debris flying into the air.

The end result sees Horvath, O’Brien and Legge all having to pit for repairs and pretty much ruins their race.

Copeman lost out at the start, but at least he is still inside the top 5.

Kederer also lost out at the start having lost 3 positions, so he’ll be looking to try and regain those positions back.

Kittleson looks to be making a move on both JHRs.

He succeeded in getting by one JHR, but now finds himself sandwiched between them.

Rodriguez takes the first fastest lap of the race.

O’Brien, Horvath and Legge have all made it into the pits to get the damage fixed up on their cars.

Jalving sits in 3rd after moving up the field from 5th, and has Copeman right on his back.

De Bruyker goes for a move on Warrington.

The One driver is unable to get by though, so stays in his current position.

Keranen has lost a position to Moinet and now has to worry about defending from the other JHR, who managed to get by Kittleson which was missed by the cameras.

He doesn't get the chance to defend the position though, as Keranen has now been passed by more cars. It looks like he has a problem to have lost so many positions.

The TNR driver pulls off to the grass and parks his car. He won’t be too happy.

It’s Transmission Failure that ends the race for Keranen.

Rodriguez still leads from Ancevski.

As we ride onboard with Copeman, let’s check out the current standings.

The timing shows how the top 10 have moved since race start.

O’Brien is currently in 19th, but he probably won’t be happy with how his race has been going.

De Bruyker is facing the wrong way.

Replay shows he was fighting with Warrington, but ended up making slight contact and spun.

Warrington manages to continue on without losing any positions.

De Bruyker finally manages to get going again.

Rodriguez has increased his lead slightly over Ancevski.

Nell is going for a move on Copeman.

And the Demon driver succeeds in getting by.

Further back, Pedersen is going for a move of his own on Greenhalgh.

And he succeeds in getting by.

Kederer is now close enough to Elleker to go for a move.

And the Shadow driver succeeds in getting past.

Fastest lap now belongs to Thomas.

However, De Bruyker manages to go faster.

Hang on, we seem to be missing Kederer in this picture. What has happened to the Shadow?

Here he is. He has pulled off to the grass with smoke coming out from the rear of his car. He’ll be disappointed for sure as he was running very well inside the top 10.

The timing shows it was an Engine Failure for the Shadow driver.

Nell is slowly closing in on Jalving for the final spot on the podium.

Warrington has managed to get ahead of Elleker.

Copeman looks to be losing time to Nell.

However, he has gotten closer once again as it looks like Nell is in serious trouble.

Nell isn’t the only one in trouble. Ancevski is in major trouble as well with his Shadow on fire.

Ancevski pulls off to the sand, and retires from the race thanks to an Oil Leak.

Nell also pulls off to the grass, and retires thanks to an Engine Failure. He won’t be happy with this, as it now gives his closest rivals a chance to close in on him in the championship.

Time for our first break. We hope to be back as soon as possible.

I'm a total dick. How many people can say that?
The championship leader dnf and I go backwards instead of forwards! So frustrating! Hope at least Jack will be able to catch up on him.

Also what a bitter day for Shadow! First losing Tom and now both cars so close one after another in the race. My condolence. *Offers a desk for more headbanging*

Bad luck for Seb, whilst in a strong position. Hopefully Daniel can get some luck, and carry that speed to lift himself up into the points.

Carlos: "So good, boss."
Turner: "OK, Kederer and Nell were out of race and you're faster than MPR drivers. Only attention to both."
Carlos: "Great!"

De Bruyker: "Sorry, boss."
Vilela: "No problem, Marc. Let's go to points. Nell and Kederer were out and you're fast driver at the moment."
