Getting the best performance on GP4

Hey here are my specs:
1GHz AMD 256MB RAM
30GB Hard Drive

They ain't great but they aint real bad either, but yet to play GP4 with a frame rate of about 20fps I have to put all settings on lowest and a resolution 800X600.
Wot the hell is wrong? I hear some people really can get good performance on PC's of about 450Mhz!!
How can I get a better performance from my PC??? Is there a specific F1graphics file that is suitable for these specs?
I kno I aint alone with performance issues.. how have you got GP4 running to your likings?

Try searching for topics like "performance", "graphics", "frame rates" etc. I think ulitimately that you'll have to consider moving up a peg or two (finances allowing) regarding your processor. 450 ain't much in today's crazy world.
Try looking for some graphics config files here and over at the site proper.

Me processor aint the problem though; 1Ghz aint really bad but i kno it aint gr8 either. All I don't get is how I seem to be having trouble with GP4 running good when others with less powerful processors have betta performance! (Or are those people who say that speaking outta their ass?)
I will try the advice given about using a graphics file as instructed and will report bak!

mate... i have a 500 mhz and its ****. i cant race basicly my po is to high
with my frames at lowest and resoloution
i dont think i have seen anyone on this forum stating they have more than
20 fps on a 450 mhz machine
i once got it to 27 on practice with no sound all graphical options set to
lowest.
even then my po wasnt that great.
plus i was by myself.
