Hi. At the moment I have an intergrated Intel(R) 82845 PCI (Not AGP) Graphics Chip which is nowhere near good enough to play GP4. What graphic card should I get to play GP4. My money limit is £100 (MAX)

I whole-heartedly recommend the Radeon 9500pro...

for the same money I personally think it spanks the GF4 Lineup...

I have owned a Gf4Ti4200 which was a good overclocker but isn't in the same league as the Radeon's which have speed + better AA and Ani.

My old PC (P3 868mhz) has a GF4mx in it and I think that is a decent cheap card.

cheers

Good topic, I have a question myself, what videocard do you prefer:

GF4 Ti4280 128MB
Radeon 9500Pro 128MB

Have heard good things about both, but it seems the Radeon is much better when it comes to FSAA ?

I own the MSI Starforce 4600 (GF4 TI 4600). It was the best card available for 5 months ago or so.

But at this time you have to think about if you want a good and cheap card to play actual games or if you want to wait some weeks to have a good and cheap card to play future games.

Think ATI Radeon cards are very good. They support dx9 a little bit better than the new gf fx 5700 cards (not the pro card). Radeon cards a more silent than gf cards.

I think if you wait 1 or 2 months you`ll get a ATI Radeon 9700 Pro for under 200

P.S.

I dont prefer one of the cards written above.

And plz. dont play cards which support 8xagp. Nvidia/ MSI and other publishers released gf4 cards with 8xagp support. But at most time there`re no motherboards which supports 8xagp.

You dont need such card if you own a board that only supports 4xagp.

I'd agree with beardless2, ati is the way to go on this. You can run gp4 on old gfx cards, i ran it with 350mhz p2 with 98mb ram and an 8mb matrox g200, at 8 fps for 3 months last year! :)

Don't listen to Schimmy. No offense mate. The thing is, even if your motherboard only supports 4x AGP, you may upgrade it later. If you have an 8x card and then you upgrade your motherboard in say a year, you will still have a good enough card for the new system.

This will save you buying yet another graphics card and having wasted ~£100 on a card at the moment. I would recommend you consider spending slightly more anyway, then the card will last longer as well, ie. it will be able to play future games.

The 128 Mb ATI 9500 Pro is a good bet, at roughly £40 over your budget.

Look, his budget is £100, not £140 or £150.

Therefore, I would recommend this.

Leadtek WinFast A280 LE TD MyVIVO 128MB Ti4200 8xAGP
Our Price £82.27
£96.67 inc VAT

This is from EBUYER

Obviously, if he CAN stretch to around the £150 mark, the Radeon 9500 Pro would be the choice.
