Should've used a boost, but I had expected more than only 3 teams to spend 1000.

Some mods
F1 1996 | F1 2002 | F1 2007 | F1 2011 | F1 2013 | F1 2015 | F1 2018
why was my pictured laptime so slow?

Probably your first run was bad, and Greg forgot to take a pic of the lap you did better, don't worry about little details like that

Regarding the session, I should have used a boost too :(

20th? Not another awful season, please...

Happy with 5th and not full boost, even if it will be difficult to gain positions.

7th is okay ;)

Talk about bad runs. You guys needed more boost, I needed a god forsaken ballistic missile! ;-(

Stats: 139 Starts / 7 Wins / 9 Poles / 5 Fastest laps
10th is decent. But the race is the important part where it can all go wrong

Finally a Pole, and at the home race. Now to put that advantage to good use.
Well, that GP2 engine showed what it could do ;)
Well we expected to be out of top 10, but out of top 20 is way too much. Seems that the new car does not fit our team.

GPG Nations Cup Rd 1 UAE GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello and welcome back to Yas Marina Circuit, where we are getting prepared for the start of the race. In qualifying, we witnessed Gerard Hatfield in the UAE car take pole in front of his home crowd. He’ll be hoping to convert it into a race win, but to do that he’ll need to beat Cheng Tung in the China car first. Behind them on the second row is Milos Ancevski in the Serbia car, who will start from 3rd position. Can he be a factor in this race? We’ll find out over the course of the race. Anyways, the cars can be heard returning from their warmup lap, so let’s head trackside.

Weather Report

Here we go. All the cars have returned from their warmup lap, and we are set for a start. Hatfield is on pole, and alongside him is Tung. Once the lights go out, it’s showtime.

Off they go!

Tung is pretty close to the back of Hatfield as they head onto the back straight.

By the end of the straight, Tung is alongside Hatfield and looking to make a move up the inside into the corner.

And the Chinese makes his move stick and takes over the lead of the race.

Kederer is up to 12th, having gotten ahead of Cremasco. Meanwhile, the timing shows that McGregor has dropped back a few places.

We have a replay in. Cremasco ran wide, which is what allowed Kederer to get by. In the background, there is a lockup from one of the cars.

Back to the action, and we can see that Hatfield has lost another position.

Replay shows that Ancevski made his move up the inside into the corner.

Hatfield won’t be too happy at the moment.

We have a three-way battle going on at the very back of the field between Silva, Rodriguez and Nikolov.

Here’s a good shot of the Uruguay car.

We have a move being made by Keranen on Silvestre.

Oh no, Keranen has been turned around, and both are passed by the cars from behind.

From onboard the Italy car, we can see that Keranen had come over across the front of the San Marino car, which left Silvestre nowhere to go but straight into the Finland car.

Keranen manages to get going again, but now sits in last position.

Not even a few corners later, Silvestre is involved in yet another incident, this time with Ana in the Singapore car.

As the replay shows however, Ana was trying for a move on Tafuro.

But wasn’t able to make the move stick, and ended up hitting the Italy car. As a result, Tafuro ends up out wide and Ana ends up facing the wrong way.

Ana manages to get going again, and ends up rejoining behind Ihara.

Amazingly, Tafuro was able to get away from the incident without losing too many positions as indicated by the timing.

Kederer now heads a train of cars.

Ana tries for a move on Ihara, but isn’t able to get ahead.

Fastest lap goes to Tung.

Not much in it between the cars at the rear of the field.

As we go onboard with Grimaldi, let’s check out the standings.

And while we’re at it, let’s see how the top 10 have moved since the start.

Nikolov was seen making a move on Rodriguez before which didn’t work out for him, and now he has his hands full defending from Silva.

Silva goes up the inside down the straight.

And he succeeds in getting by, leaving Nikolov to defend from Keranen.

Ancevski seems to have lost a bit of time to Tung.

Hatfield still sits in 3rd position.

Coulthard is doing pretty well so far.

Tafuro is trying for a move on Briere.

However, the Canadian manages to hold his position.

We have a yellow flag out, and it’s due to Keranen having stopped his car. He must have a terminal problem.

The timing confirms that Keranen is now out of this race. The report from the Finland team is that it was an Electrical Failure that brought Keranen’s race to an end.

Ihara is closing in on Silvestre.

However, she’ll need to watch out for Ana who is still close enough to strike.

Ana goes to the outside down the straight.

And he succeeds in getting by Ihara.

Further back, McGregor and Rodriguez are in their own battle.

Unseen by the cameras, Tafuro has dropped back to the rear of the field since the last time we saw him.

As we focus in on our race leader, let’s take another look at the current standings.

Time now for our first break. We hope to be back again soon with more of the coverage.

yeah 2nd place!
Doesn't seem like we are faster than China, but I'll happily take a podium for my debut if we can keep this position :-)

So far a solid job. Just disappointed that we got involved in the accident
Not bad not bad :)
Shame, we weren't too thrilled with the new car, and it seems we've made a mistake in one of the pre race checks on everything. It's not the way we wanted to start the season, but in the end, it's how it is.
Running well. I'll be happy with a finish & a few points

Awful start of the season...
