Massive CPU Occupancy with 970?

I recently upgraded to an Nvidia GTX 970. Before that, I had a 670, as well as an AMD R9 280X, and everything ran fine.

With the 970, my CPU occupancy is above 100% all the time, and at or near 150% most of the time, even if I turn down graphical settings.

Why would this be so bad just due to a new GPU, which works fine and as expected in other games? I've already tried using ALL CPU's in GPXPatch, as well as each one individually, but no difference.

I would be glad if somebody else can advise what may be causing this.

When I ran GP4 on my last computer, I had a AMD Dual Core processor that gave 2.66Ghz while only using one of the cores.
When it crashed I bought a laptop that have a Quad Core but one core only delivers 1.5GHz. That has been the difference for me.

GP4 does not work properly with multiple cores, as far as I know it only uses one core.
When I see your PC specs, I find it weird you accually have a PO problem. For me it was what kind of processor I had, and it needs to
be played on 0 or 1 cores in GPxPatch for me to work properly.

Firstly, always use CPU=0. Don't use All.

Secondly, try going into Options - Graphics - Advanced and setting the mode to Manual. Then change texture detail to high. If it is set to high already, set it to medium (I know it's a weird advice, trust me, just change it!). Now try again and check your PO.

Well it was fine with this CPU before, with different GPU's, as stated above...

I always ran with CPU=0, but the problem started when I swapped GPU's. So I tried different options.

But I'll try the second part. Thanks!

EDIT: Updated specs.

After changing the GPU, have you re-calibrated graphics?
Perhaps GP4 is still thinking there is the old card?
What card is mentioned in "gconfig.txt"?

So I decided to rename my F1graphics.cfg and recreate it. All better now. :)

Thanks guys,
