Nice qualy by the Aston Boys! Congratulations to John on an excellent pole position. And Jack isn't too far behind in 5th :)

I will run the race, but obviously with Christmas here, it won't be until Sunday. I may be getting a little more involved in RDing from now on, if Ruben will run FP and qualy.

GPGSL Rd 9 Canadian GP – Race Day

Part 1

Hello and welcome back to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve as we get set for the start of the Canadian GP. Maverick secured pole in qualifying, which sees the AMR driver starting from the front row. Alongside him is the Shadow of Ancevski, who will be hoping to make up for the disappointment of the previous round where he failed to finish having been in a good position. However, with Jalving and Nell making up the second row, it should make for a fantastic run into the first few corners. Well then, the cars can be heard returning from the warmup lap, so it’s time now to head trackside.

Weather Report

The cars have all returned from the warmup lap, and we now set for a start. Maverick has pole, but with Ancevski alongside and both Jalving and Nell right behind, it’s going to be a tough time ahead for the AMR driver. When the lights go out, it’s showtime.

They’re off!

At the rear of the field, it’s looking pretty close between each of the drivers.

Kederer may be looking to make a potential move on McCarthy down the straight.

Meanwhile, Sanvitale wants to pass the wooden spoon over to Keranen, but he isn’t close enough to make a move into the chicane. The timing also shows that Maverick takes the fastest lap.

Unseen by the cameras, Copeman has managed to get by Greenhalgh.

Also unseen was the move made by Jalving to get ahead of Nell.

With Maverick currently leading, being down in 13th is not where De Bruyker would want to be right now in regards to the championship.

Another fastest lap again for Maverick.

Timing shows how the top 10 have currently moved.

As we focus in on Maverick, let’s check out the current standings.

Oh no, smoke is starting to billow from the back of Maverick’s AMR.

All Ancevski can see right now is nothing but smoke.

Ancevski now leads, but Jalving is really putting the pressure on.

Maverick finally brings his stricken AMR to a stop, and there is no doubting the fact that he would be furious underneath his helmet. A potential race win gone down the drain, and with it most likely the championship lead as well.

The standings shows that it was an Oil Leak which lead to Maverick’s retirement.

Meanwhile, the battle for the lead is really heating up.

Jalving makes his move at the chicane, and now leads the race.

Now both Nell and Elleker want a chance to get by the Shadow.

Nell succeeds in getting by, but Elleker wasn’t quite close enough so ends up staying behind.

Major drama down at the rear of the field. Kederer has spun, and the cars have all bunched up.

As the replay shows, Kederer decided to make his move up the inside of McCarthy. In the distance, smoke can be seen billowing out from yet another car.

However, he made his move without realising that Pedersen was too close.

With nowhere to go, Kederer made contact with Pedersen, sending the Shadow driver into a spin and coming so close to being hit by McCarthy who he had just passed on the run into the corner.

As for Pedersen, he was pushed off the track after the contact was made.

Amazingly, he manages to keep his position despite contact being made and running wide off the track.

Kederer gets going again. He should be thankful that he gets to continue on as it could’ve been race over had he been hit by McCarthy.

It’s now confirmed that the smoke billowing out from a car was from De Bruyker’s One.

De Bruyker is now out of the race due to an Oil Leak. For the championship, it’s another devastating blow for the One driver.

Out in front, Jalving currently holds a lead of nearly 2s over Nell.

It looks like Elleker now has another chance to get by Ancevski as he goes to the inside of the Shadow.

And the AMR driver gets it done at the chicane.

Once again, Ancevski now finds himself under immense pressure.

Legge gets by Ancevski into the first corner, while behind them Thomas has managed to get by Warrington.

P4 to P10 all in the same shot.

Thomas is now closer to Ancevski.

As the timing shows that Jalving now has the fastest lap, Thomas is now close enough to the back of Ancevski to try for a pass.

The Demon driver goes to the inside, and succeeds in getting by.

As we ride onboard with Moinet, let’s check out the current standings.

It’s been a quiet race so far for Gilson.

Here’s a great shot of Jalving’s MPR.

The split shows that Gilson has lost a little bit of time to McCarthy.

Behind Ancevski, a train is slowly starting to form.

O’Brien currently sits in 10th, and is in close proximity to Greenhalgh.

Horvath sits in 14th. With a bit of luck, this could help the TNR driver make it into the points by race end.

Legge currently sits in 4th, which for him would be a very good result should he manage to hold it down till the end.

Time to check out the standings once again.

Horvath has come to a halt on the edge of the track. A shame too as he was only a few positions away from a points position.

Timing shows that it was Suspension Failure that put an end to the TNR.

Time for us to take a break. We hope to be back soon.

GPGSL Rd 9 Canadian GP - Race Day

Part 2

Welcome back.

It’s been a great race so far from Nell, and with Thomas also inside the top 5, it currently shows that Demon Racing are having a fantastic race weekend.

According to the split, Greenhalgh looks to be increasing the gap between himself and O’Brien.

Kittleson currently sits in 13th, and will be most eager to try and get past Rodriguez for the final point.

Gilson is still trying to close in more on McCarthy.

Legge won’t need to worry too much about what is going on behind him, as the spilt shows he has a gap of 1.6s over Thomas.

The same can be said in regards to Jalving’s lead.

Moinet is the first man in to take his stop.

He rejoins in last position.

This race is about to get interesting as all of the top 4 drivers come in for their stop.

Jalving keeps his position, but from the looks of it Elleker has managed to get ahead of Nell.

Legge rejoins right in front of Kederer.

Jalving won’t want to be stuck behind Pedersen for too long.

Thomas is in for his stop.

So too is O’Brien.

Jalving finally gets by Pedersen.

Thomas rejoins behind Nell.

This isn’t good news for Legge, as it now means the Demon driver managed to leapfrog him through the stops.

O’Brien rejoins in front of Moinet.

Sanvitale rejoins after taking his stop.

Rodriguez and Kittleson both come in to take their stop.

Gilson also comes in for his stop.

Keranen and Kederer are also in.

Kederer rejoins in front of Sanvitale.

Ancevski is in for his stop.

Now Elleker has finally gotten by Pedersen.

Ancevski has rejoined in front of Warrington after taking his stop.

Copeman and Greenhalgh are now in.

Copeman has to wait for Greenhalgh to go by so as not to cause an unsafe release.

Greenhalgh rejoins right in front of O’Brien, only for the SCR driver to make slight contact with the MPR.

The onboard from the SCR gives a better picture.

Meanwhile, Copeman ended up rejoining into the middle of a battle for the final points positions.

With only Pedersen left still to pit, let’s check out the current standings.

With Maverick having retired early on while in the lead, AMR’s hope for a points finish now fall onto Elleker.

Pedersen is finally in for his stop.

There looks to be a battle brewing between Moinet and Kittleson for the final points position.

Pedersen rejoins behind Kederer.

We can see just how big the gap is between Jalving and Elleker.

As for Jalving, he has a reasonable gap between himself and Nell.

Ancevski must surely be thinking of what could’ve been.

It looks like Copeman has managed to get by Rodriguez.

Kittleson is still trying his best to get close enough to make a move on Moinet.

Time to check out the standings again.

It’s time once again for another break. We hope to be back again soon.
