How make a GP4 Track with GP3 Track data

At the request of TGF1DRIVER here a little Tutorial (sorry for my bad english) :

1) GP3's Dat files can not directly converted to GP4
2) I'll quickly explain :
a) you must open the GP3 DAT file with GP3Track Editor : you will find here on the site in the Download area => [www.grandprixgames.org]
b) When the DAT file is open, make "Table", "Track Data"

Here there is any data to build the GP4 track


=> you understand that each line "Index" is a creation of Sectors with GP4 Builder : Number, angle and height

I have not watched the other data (track width, banking, verges and banks ...)

3) Choose a GP4 Dat depending if the stands are left or right and Delete all sectors and CC line sections (keep sector 1)

4) You can make all index, for example INDEX 5 => Length 11 , Angle -0.48 , Height 1.37
"Add" - "Multiple Sectors" (I used Slope interpolation: Linear) and confirm "create" Etc, Etc, Etc =>>> BUT TAKE YOUR TIME !!!


At the end (if no error), you go to the junction of the first and last sector
=> Surely you must adjust it

After make the Pitlane, smooth the track to remove bumps and verify commandes, do the CC line and all for it work

I hope that this little tutorial is clear, there is nothing complicated

Great, thanks! It's my goal to build all GP3-tracks are not existing for GP4 yet until the end of 2015. If somebody new is interested in track building as well or wants to help me please tell me.

Fun Fact :
Do you know it ? you can open a .gp3 track with GP4 Builder (Since 1.639 indeed. It's far from perfect but you can use it as a base).

What i dont understand why anyone will want to use a Gp3 track base to make a Gp4 track?
Their very far from perfect in terms of lengh, layout and many other important aspect of a track.

there is less of tracks modders, I think.
if new people are interested and motivated by the creation of new tracks, I think we should encourage them to use GP4 Builder
Even if it's on a GP3 tracks base.

it's always interesting to see new projects.

YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! Keeping GP4 alive, the best thing we can do!

I just realized that I'm still using GP4Builder 1.0.6.1 because a .dat-file for GP3 made the program to collapse!

We have just about the same track makers for the last 4 years.
Gildoorf, Prblanco, Pedro27, Drt01, Me, you and Ktc.

Theirs 8 new proyects on the way. They are quiet but they are comming.

Gp4 is not dead.

This is great! And I will be a track maker as well in 2015. There are many circuits left to build and I'm also interested in building some fantasy circuits. So GP4 looks ahead to a bright future!

Rob's Coppermine Park? I don't know that circuit! I thought of historical F1 circuits first.

It's a fictional track, loved to drive on that one when I still had gp3 running on my pc.
