Crash to dekstop

Hello all.
Whenever I go to load a hotlap that I have downloaded from the Internet to view, I always CTD. I am able to load my own laps and watch them but anyone else's and I'm gone. I am using the official patch for GP4 and the noCD patch. Any ideas how to fix this problem?
System specs are: Win XP Pro, AMD 220+ XP, 512 MB (PC 2700) DDR, GeForce FX 5200.
