Dat opening problem fixed

I have a problem when i open my dat file from within the default circuits folder the original circuit opens gp4builder instead has anyone got a solution to this. Does not happen
when opened from other location.

This is also happening when a load the game my edit wad works in game but default circuit dat loads.

When opening the default circuits GP4Builder will load the default circuits.

I never saw such lock overlay icon ? What are they standing for ? Could it be related to your Norton Anti-Virus version ?

the lock icon means it is not ready for archiving which only appears in gp4 builder never happened until today.

I have had the same anti-virus for a long time so I don' think it is that.

Both pictures are of the same folder at about the same time

I'm sorry. I have never seen this error before. Maybe anyone else can help you with this error.

Win7 permission issues maybe? Lock Icon on Files and Folders - Remove in Windows 7

Unfortunately this has not solved the lock problem as this problem is only in gp4 builder and not in windows itself.

I am going to uninstall grand prix 4 and all related software to see if this solves the problem will let you know if it works.

As it is not related to the game or to GP4Builder (or indirectly for an unknown reason), I doubt reinstalling these will change your problem.
The lock overlay is clearly not a GP4Builder feature so I would also bet on the Win7 permission issue.

Do you use an administrator account for your computer ? (In control panel, User account; it might be written "Administrator" under your account name)

Yes i am set as Administrator am the only user the of the computer I have tried what Foreverk suggested which did not work.

Just a quick update after a clean install of gp4 and registry clean out of all gp4 links all works again.
