I put the word "Formula One" in an anagram program and got "Mean or Foul" ;)

There would be nothing to stop us doing what the original Microprose F1GP (GP1) did which was used fake names and team names, and only basic liveries that didn't infringe on any copyright.

For example remember "Carlos Sanchez" (Ayrton Senna) in the "McPherson-Alpha" (McLaren-Honda). Or "Robert Davies" (Nigel Mansell) in the "Puma-Lacelles" (Williams-Renault) ;)

The car liveries would need some imagination but it would be quite fun I think.

I have been thinking we could make plain liveries without sponsor logos. Easy. We could even make rough logos with colored zones that may suggest a sponsor logo.

I think that we need to wait and see how this develops. At the moment only one site has been warned, so i think we should wait until we see more comprehensive action before we necessarily take kneejerk reactions.

All I've asked is for everyone to be a bit careful under the circumstances. :-)

Everyone over here is alarmed or too concerned but the fact is that this site has not been warned.
I would not worry about it. So i suggest to carry on releasing gp4 works, we are a small community and
they dont take us as threat. (Y)

I had an idea for when showing our work :-)
ForOne 2014 mod? or OpenOne 2014 mod ;-) maybe ...
I put ForOne in google today and came up almost nothing :-) Just an idea for if it gets bad for us at GPG.

No, as they in no way infringe the copyright of Formula One/FOM.

Races: 163 - Wins: 23 - Pole Positions: 24 - Fastest Laps: 22
Season 9: Constructors' Champions

Hm, in my opinion this ist not conclusive.

Why should the FIA send letters in this case, whilst the FOM is the company administrating the exploitation of rights?

:(

From the words of one modder: "You know, back when I was a texture artist for RSR, we were working on the NAGT mod for rFactor. I contacted a few of the racing teams to gather some pictures for some texture work. Those teams were so happy to give us whatever we needed to get the mod done. They even told us they would test the mod for us, and give us feedback.

To me, that's the attitude to have. It brings awareness to the sport."

Keep this in mind.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but when I saw this I instantly remembered it. It seems it isn't over yet.

I kinda sorta get that they request the removal of modifications for Codies' titles but Automobilista? It isn't even released yet, it's in closed beta.

Added to that is the simple and repeatedly mentioned fact that the community does not make a profit off this. I remember a thread about someone selling ripped mods online, that's the people FOM should be out against, not RaceDepartment, Reiza or VirtualR for that matter.

Hope Mal and Stephan don't have to deal with these arses. GPG for life! ;)

prehistoric mind of F1 owners (like in music or cinema). This sport his completely out of fans and new generation's communication way.
