HELP! GP4 Crashes on 2nd lap!

Hi all,

Can anyone help me please!

Ive recently aquired GP4 after playing GP3 for years.

Although the game loads up each time ok and I can go from menu to menu ok,
the problem arises when I race.

It doesnt matter if its a full GP or quick race, but when i get 1/4 way through lap two it crashes to windows!

Is there an update I need or a quick cure?

I run a ACPI x86 based PC with Vista
AMD Phenom 8550 Triple Core Processor
3 gig ram
Nvidia ge Force 8600 GT display card.

Can anyone help??

Is it stock standard GP4 or have you added anything, cars, helmets etc?

Vista can be a bitch.

When you installed GP4, did you install under admin mode and disable UAC, that can be a killer.

Also what track is that? I've had problems with Canada for years, I think someone did a version which had a bug in it and everyone has updated that version forever more after that, so the bug continues. It's only the original track that is less buggy.

Please post the gpx error log. Edit your topic header to show error log after doing so.

Maybe look in GPxPatch, Compatibility -> Use CPU -> 0

Its the Stock version 1.00 as far as I can see.

It crashes on every track on lap 2.

I will try the different way of loading you suggested.

Eu não sei se é o seu caso mais eu tinha um problema de crash que nunca conseguia resolver, resolvi por acaso, eu colocava os nomes dos pilotos assim:
ex. Felipe Massa, eu descobri que colocando simplesmente apenas o sobrenome ex. Massa, parava de dar crash e resolveu o problema,
tambem coloquei somente um nome para as equipes ex. Force India, para Sahara, eu não sei o porque disso

This is a bug in GP4 that is fixed by using GPxPatch. It assumes there's a space in the name. I remember this caused a crash when it tried to show the name in the fastest lap sky message, which was indeed in lap 2.
