Fantastic work,Ricardo(Y)
Here you have the cars of 5 teams , the last ones before the first race at Melbourne . The Mclaren and Williams were released by Excalibur and Bruno Duarte respectively , already with the 2014 new shapes . Don't expect perfection , each car has small problems . Anyway hope you have some fun with them . Enjoy !

GP4 season 2014 on limited power PC

I've installed GP4 on my PC in 2002 year, and I've downloaded 1999 2000 and 2013 mods.

In order to allow GP4 to run smoothly on my PC (Pentium 4 2.66 GHz, Nvidia go 5600), I've modified the cars.wad files decreasing the tex files size with Slimtex and using the smaller car_xxxx_carx_lod_3 file for both car_xxxx_carx_lod_0/1/2 files, this tricks allow me to run GP4 with PO lower than 100.

I've downloaded your beautifull 2014 cars and before to put them on my GP4 cars.wad I've reduced the tex files size with Slimtex.
The car_xxxx_carx_lod_0 files downloaded are very large (about 1.600 KB) compared with the 2001 originals files (about 180 KB) and installing them on my GP4 cars.wad doesn't allow me to run GP4 smoothly, the PO is about 140%.

I kindly ask you, if it's not to much heavy for you, to include on your cars zip files a car_xxxx_carx_lod_x file version of reduced size (about 200/300 KB), this will allow people like me with a limited power PC to continue to enjoy GP4 with the new 2014 F1 seasons.

Thanks in advance,
Sergio Poletti.
Sergio i suggest you resize the textures in photoshop or any other program, and remove the hi_ before the textures and then in the graphics section you can put everything on low so it runs smoother ;-)

Hi Sergio , if I understood properly you've already reduced the textures sizes . I don't have experience to reduce the size of the lods but shouldn't be a big issue . Have a look at this tutorial created by Josekast , it is written in spanish but surely you can handle that with google translate : [www.gp4forever.com]
Excellent work as always!! (Y)
Looking verry good(Y)
Thank you guys(Y)

Thanks,

I'm working on some cars, someone successfully, some other with some problems, but it's seems the only way to reduce the lod.

Best Regards,
Sergio.
