gp4 suddenly crashed to desktop

i have following problem.

I have done a fresh install of GP4, installed the gp4 patch v9.6, the no cd patch, gpxpatch v4.10. The game crashes to the desktop sometimes with the error that the program has to close because it encountered a problem without an error message. Strange.

1) What OS are you on?
2) Run it in debug mode?

I've got similar problems but when using mods; the game suddenly crashes to desktop, you know, I tried to configure every option into the gpxpatch, ticking and unticking everything, but still I experience crashes over crashes; I think in my case it's a OS compatibility issue (I use Win 7 32 bit), I don't know

Have you set GP4.exe to run in XP Compatibility Mode?

yes i did set in XP Compatibility Mode (windows xp service pack 3)
i'm playing unders w7 64 bits

When does it crash? When you start the game, loading a race, at random points in the race..?

Sound problem again René? :S There've been a lot of those since 4.10 haven't there, any clue why, or is it just coincidence? :/

Dunno, maybe you should try with GPxPatch 4.02. If that works then 4.10 is the problem

I know that GP4 has got troubles with some Realtek soundcards.
@Pont: Did you try with your soundcard disabled from your config panel?
Or into GpxPatch, disable 3D engine sounds....

i disabled 3d engine sounds in gpxpatch but it didn't make any difference?
maybe i have to try it again with an earlier version of gpxpatch?
