prob with anim wad*

Hey there I've put the 2010 marshall.tex in the anim wad & recompiled it & works fine in race mode but qualifying it just keeps crashing.
why is this happening? anyone experinced the same problem?

Hey when I tried modding the anim.wad I had a similar problem, I could mod the race crews but not the qualifying crews, and I have no idea why. :/ I just left the qualifying alone, the race crews are more important after all. I cannot remember exactly, but I think I had the same problem with the marshall's too, but it was a while ago! Sorry I cannot help you, but at least you're not the only one!

did you renamed the 2010 tex files to the original ones and how did you insert them into the anim wad?

no I just put the tex file in as named marshall & recompiled the wad.

can you please upload the marshall tex file here? i'll have a look then

Did you ever fix this problem? I just had a go at modding the anim to 2007, and came across the same problem!

I extracted a bog-standard anim.wad, replaced the pitcrew files, and it ran fine with the new crews. Went to do exactly the same process but with the engin files into quali skins, and the game crashes on loading quali... I don't see the logic here :/

Have you guys tried to update your anim.wad with a Lo2k's wadupdater? Editing anim.wad is hurting like a son of b**** sometimes

What I usually do when I am stuck with that issue, I don't extract the anim.wad: I just collect the textures in a folder and update them to the wad itself.

Yes, ColdBlood is correct. When it comes to the Anim wad, always use the wadupdater.

It always sorted me out back in the day.

Does anyone know why it fails to work normally, surely wadupdater is just doing the same thing I was doing..? O.o GP4 can react strangely sometimes...
