The world of motorsport has got three grand-slam-races. Two of them are already available for GP4: The Indy 500 and Monaco.
And I just decided to bulit the last missing one, Macau.

From time to time I'll post the current progress here.

Would be great to see it in GP4, but it is an absolutely ridiculous track in real life.

Check out the hairpin in this video. It would be carnage in GP4 ;)

Oh yes, Macau has got some very trikcy corners. Two of them are worth to be mentioned here:

Melco hairpin:
It is a very very narrow corner and the only corner in the world where since 2006 overtaking is forbidden permanently during the race. From start to finish, there's always a yellow flag out, equal to, whether there is a car standing or not. In the past there were to many crashes, which blocked the track completely, so that the FIA solved the problem that way.

Lisboa bend:
The most important corner of the track with most of the action. At the end of the long straight, lisboa is the best ( and the only) opportunity to overtake.
Unforgotten are the yearly start crashes here, for example
in 2005 and
in 2006.

Also AFAIK Macau is the only street circuit with a motorcycles race.

Nice track to put in GP4.

Firstly I thought it could be too difficult to drive, but the first in-game-test was quite good. It was really possible to attack in most of the corners (Y). Melco is very slow, of course.
But everything seems to be quite bug-free so far.
There are no buildings so far, so 90% of the work is still to come .
The two kinks on the main straight are flat-out-possible, although I made the second one quite difficult.

@klausfeldmann : The track exists for GP3 and it is a real challenge to drive. At Melco one have to almost stop the car to turn. Anyway, looks very promising; good luck !

Nice! I just took a look in GPG's GP3-download-section. Amazing how many tracks for GP3 are available, even el Parque Fundidora Monterrey (one of my favourite tracks)!

I'll make some new elevations for Macau, to make it as challenging as the GP3 track is ;-).

@Klausfeldmann : Impressive start !
I believe it's the perfect track to tell you to check the Monaco checbox in the .dat initial track sector properties (Even if the panel is labelled Garage Side). Thanks to some recent discoveries, this setting is really helping AI to handle narrow tracks and tight corners without crashing in each other everywhere.

I just rebuilt the elevations and tested them successfully. Now they are much better. You will like it ;-)!

I just discovered a small bug at Lisboa Bend. If you crash into one rail, or even just touch it, your car will be thrown across the run-off into the opposite wall. Just watch the video for a better understanding:

Here is a map for this part of the track. Only the red marked wall has this bug.

Does anyone know, how we can fix bugs like that?
