I'm switching back to high poly and render mode, I'll worry about 2d textures when the garages are done, that way I have a target, and they will get finished.

WoW congratulation Richard. Fantastic job with your garages.
After that my "generic" garages are looking so basic ;-)

And Adrian can't help me... ;)

(I don't have the patience, the time and the skill to render it correctly, so it's only GP4 Builder pictures... )

Adrian Newey and his inseparable folder.
Many people would like to have this folder in his hands.
Gezere, fantastic job.

They are good beginnings of garages, you can improve them as much as you want, the key word is "patience".....so......learn to be patient, find the time, and develop your skills to produce what you want.
There is no place like the 3d world where the phrase "you get out what you put in" is more relevant.

For rendering you could try realtime render engines like KeyShot, you can literally learn to render with them in a matter of minutes, and they are definitely more "fun" to use than Vray and way way easier to learn...give it a shot ;-)

Thx guys, I've been messing around with Nitrous in Max viewports, you can get pretty good results without having to render, good enough for previews anyway ;-), it will be even better if Autodesk ever manage to finish it.
That's Excaliburs FW34 in the scene btw, 2011 garage 2012 car.

@mclarenaustralia :

Extremely helpful dude, they will be indispensable when I start the 2013 version, a quick Google of Dickie Stanford turned up some good shots too, I'm gonna fire him a tweet and see if I can some high res copys ;-)

Ive progressed a little with this one, I deleted and started again for a more accurate layout (perfectionist kicked in) :-) , I've gone for the see-thru glass observation stations at the back, as in.....

There seem to be so many different variations of the same garage.

While I'm on it, does anyone know what logo this is under the LCD screen on the walls ? It's the only one I can't figure out.

EDIT: nm, got it... it's Thomson Reuters,
