GP4 CTD on Win7 32-Bit [link to error log]

It's happened a couple of times now since I started playing again the other week, and it is what caused me to stop playing the first time around.
Here is a link the error report from Gpxpatch:

Despite what the log says I'm on Win7, not XP.
Anyone know what causes this?

Are you playing on a laptop? Have you set the compatibility of the exe to XP SP2/3?

No I'm on Desktop, and different compatibility options don't help.

I recommend trying the GP4 installation available at GP4 Central (sorry mortal if that is pedaling warez, i will remove the comment if it's not OK). It is pre-patched and ready to go, and stable as GP4 can be... Be aware that GP4 has always been, and always will be, a temperamental SOB of a game. Sometimes it will just crash, no reason necessary.
