After getting the game working, i was going to work on making a 1995 mod for myself as i remember playing F1 on the playstation for the first time. But i can't seem to find any 1995 cars. Is it best of just getting the already made Mod from gp4db? and can you adjust teams in it? Make teams slightly better etc. I ask because i've never used a mod before and always made my own, adjusting with team editor.

Other years i was going to look at were 2008 to 2012

On gp4db there's the old version of the 95 mod, you can find v2.2 in this thread: [www.grandprixgames.org]
A 2008 mod is available on gpgames: [www.gpgames.eu]
The RSCT 2009 mod you can get here: [www.grandprixgames.org]

all are CSM mods

This might sound silly, but how do you run a csm mod? Do you still use gpxpatch? can you adjust stuff? I'm pretty useless as i've never used CSM mods, just put stuff in using team editor and easywad

You just open CSM, and then click 'File' then 'Install carset/update'. GPxPatch is part of the program, so you just play with the settings then run the mod :)

you have to install zaz tools [www.grandprixgames.org], then first run the updater to get the latest versions of all tools. Then simply install the mod as Jake said above. You can also adjust some stuff in the CSM menu (different for each mod).

EDIT: However I'd suggest that you first make a backup of your running gp4 installation before installing zaz tools.

Cheers again guys. Seems to be running pretty good with the track pack too :-D

Although is there anyway you can edit the mod? i ask as i was thinking of putting the unreliability up. I was also wondering if there was a way of making cars stop for pitstops during smaller races (20-30% for example)

Cheers

for putting the unreliability up you need to edit the performance file/files the mod uses. They're in the performance folder of the mod (your_gp4_installation\GPSAVES\Carsets\1995\Data\Performance). iirc the 1995 mod has a specific perf file for each track, and also several ones for team11. You have to edit all these files.

The only way I know for making the cars stop in shorter races is to keep the race lenght at 100%, but to edit the md of the tracks. You reduce the number of laps in the mds of the single tracks and also change the pitstop windows.

Cheers Kedy, you're been a great help.

How do you go about changing the number of laps and pit stop windows? It's another thing i've never tried. And i'd be able to load up that perf file in team editor, change it and save it back to that location?

cheers again

You start TSM, click on Manage tracks on the left side, then choose the track, and then click on the Magic Data tab. Here you can change the number of laps, the percentage of 1-, 2- and 3-stoppers, the laps in which the cars shall stop and the window they have for the stop. After you've changed it you have to click on Save.

About the thing with team editor I don't know, if I want to change something I normally open them with Editor, change what I want to change, and save it.
