Completely unintentionally? So was it an accident or an attack?

"Trulli was slowing down like he wanted to have a picnic" LOL
new details emerge, apparently the people involved where locked inside a bathroom... some witness claim they heard some screaming but apparently no one really paid attention or took it seriously as the pair where very friendly before taking the discussion to the bathroom where it seems that it got "out of hand"...

among the evidence collected, police found a condom, a wip and a pair of gloves, but they refuse to announce who used what

sorry i think i had too many beers today lol

Max Mosley likes this.

When was the last time a driver attacked/assaulted someone like this? Was it not the infamous Gachot incident?

Lux has now stated that he is filing a 'criminal complaint' against Sutil, for GBH. He has also not ruled out "commencing an action against any other persons involved in this matter", which is ominous.

Sutil has issued the following statement:

"During a private event, there was a very unfortunate action by me in which I hurt another person completely unintentionally," Sutil said in a statement to the German media.

"I regret the incident and have apologised accordingly. Since this was a private event and not directly related to Formula 1 or my job as a Formula 1 driver, I ask for understanding that I will say no more on this incident."

Hope this doesn't damage Sutil's career :(

Don't be surprised if it has some kind of detrimental effect. As said already, it's not the kind of thing you can do to someone by accident, you don't gouge pieces out of someone's neck with a glass unless you intended to injure them in the first place. So Sutil is talking @#$%& when he says he hurt him unintentionally. And he didn't just assault a random clubber, he assaulted the CEO of a company which has a significant involvement in F1.
I've always liked Sutil a lot, but God this was retarded on his part.

Damn :o

Sutil's not going to jail or anything but this is definitely not good for him, not good at all....
But why has it taken Lux several weeks to actually go to the authorities about it and complain?

Well if he's guilty, I don't feel sorry for him at all - it's a very serious crime.

The interesting thing will be where the proceedings take place (China, France etc.), and whether other drivers who were in the club at the time - including Hamilton and Alonso - will be called as witnesses.

When he first complained has not been disclosed. Obviously the press only got hold of the story recently, whereupon Sutil and Lux then gave statements to said press.

Interesting. Hamilton may say one thing, Alonso may say another.

I do not dislike Sutil, but I do not love him either. I have always found him rather smarmy and glassing someone in a nightclub is a cowardly way to settle a score.
"During a private event, there was a very unfortunate action by me in which I hurt another person completely unintentionally," Sutil said in a statement to the German media.

Since Sutil runs with his arms flailing about, we can assume he was simply trying to exit the room as quick as possible, and his flailing arms smashed a glass over Erics head.
