Haven't see a very good shot of it so far on the Webcast, but the Rothmans influence is pretty clear, particularly with the thin red and gold stripes at the rear.

Oh, and Sam Michael 'tight rear end' puns aplenty ;)

If they were going for a retro livery they might have gone the whole way rather than this itsy-bitsy-teenie-weenie effort. That said, it's not a bad livery.

I do like how much effort they've gone to to show off the details of the rear end as much as possible. How much of it is real I've no idea, but they certainly lit it nicely!

Yeah, i think you're right Gav. It does seem like an FW19 has rear-ended last year's car and then been sat on.

(Various edits cos I can't remember my Williams model numbers >.<;)

Love it tbh, looks lovely
Loads of people complaining about it looking the same, despite the fact that it doesn't...

Wow - that's more than a nod to the Rothmans livery.

Quite ironic in this tobacco-free era of F1 that we now have an almost-Marlboro Ferrari, a 'classic' JPS Renault, and now a Williams that they might as well put Damon Hill in ;)

It's not too bad actually, could do with a sponsor here and there (sidepods spring to mind).

That livery is very nice, I have a model of Damon Hill's FW16 and it is very similar (the livery).

BTW, if that livery's colours are from Rothmans, aren't they going to have problems in Canada like LRGP's livery?

No because it isn't Rothmans, it's from a Venezuelan bank...

The difference is that the Renault livery is based on a tobacco livery with no evidence to suggest the contrary, the new Williams one is a mix of PDVSA and Williams Cosworth's blue. It just happens to remind people of the Rothmans one. Tough.

Also, I think the stripes are actually silver, but just look gold under the lighting.

Anyway, not a bad livery, but like Gav said, a bit of an half-hearted attempt.

I think it's nice and am glad that it's more of a Rothmans-era-influence rather than a replica. For once, I'm actually not disappointed that Williams arent keeping their winter test livery for the season.

Rear end is beautiful. Front end is a random mess that wasn't designed at all.

Whole front part really ruins this livery. (N)

wow, 1 second already?

Okay, they can run a team on £40mil but if they dont want to be back of the grid then they need to spend more. I expected a similar step up to Lotus but that hasnt been the case. For whatever reason they've kept the same internals, whilst Lotus have moved forward with a new engine/gearbox and hydraulics.

The last few months ive been reading about various data acquisition methods for wind tunnels, and the more i read/speak to poeple in the know the more I believe a CFD only approach will not be successful for a while. Tunnels are advancing at an impressive enough rate to still keep CFD at bay. I recently spoke to someone who did some work for BAR, and Williams improving their tunnel techniques, he was pretty appauled at their methods of trial and error with CFD with the need to push through development with no real thought.

I really think Branson should pump more money in. This team will not get anywhere otherwise.

It should be noted that this car has had at least 1 day in the tunnel.
