Ah, so that's why you painted it in a mock JPS livery, because you're not trying to link it to the historic Team Lotu... oh... wait.

And they made the claims that the "real lotus" are back :p

On that, I hear GL are yet to recieve the malaysian money.

Also, RB7 launched. A simple evolution of the RB6, but did we expect anything else? The car visually has probably changed the least over the last two years (at least the same concepts have been applied).

the front looks changed, no?, and the rear looks heavily worked on
what's with the rules this year? teams seem to be focusing on the rear a lot.. some say the Lotus Team removed some pieces from the rear and in Ferrari they say that the rear suspension is innovative... am i looking too much into it or is something going on?

The the DDD's were pretty efficient. The single deck diffusers are much more prone to adverse pressure gradients which is why this year it looks like they'll use the max width as opposed to last year. To me it all points to get flow over the top of the diffuser working the beam wing to help drive it. Its what RBR did in 09 and the car was 2nd quickest even with the DDD.

The RB7 looks abit longer but thats just by looks so whether it is or isnt... Still so far of all the car's ive seen it looks the most natural, you can tell the other teams have hashed together bits of an RBR whereas this just looks right :p. Got to hand it to the team, they've made Ferrari and Mclaren look silly for 2 seasons, and I expect it will go on for another 1 or 2 at least!

I think all the shapes look good so far, so that is a positive.

The liveries haven't improved, really. I preferred the Mercedes with some more black, as particularly the engine cover looks a bit bare. The Red Bull and Toro Rosso look quite good, but it would be nice if they made some more changes every so often, but I suppose if it ain't broke...

IOt is amazing how these cars have evolved from the early 2009 season, with bizarre cases like the R29, which was the ugliest car one can see to the curernt ones, soft, smooth shapes...

I've found a picture saying it's the MP4-26 but I'm not sure. It resembles MP4-25.
Is there any leaked or teaser picture of MP4-26?

the williams seems to defy logic, are they using the flywheel this year!?

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it

Had quick glance at the cars and well, who said F1 cars look the same?! I cant remember this much diversity in ages! Not an ugly one yet! And the rear end packaging on the Williams is something to behold! When they said aggressive, they meant it! The STR is also pretty interesting and im glad that they've gone down their own route. They hired quite a few designers last year to be based in Oxfordshire. Im glad they got bored of RBR doing all the work ;-)!

edit - big up to Renault for the exhausts then. Again would be very interested to know why they want them blowing there... I gather it is quite a high pressure area but still. Im not sure how willing they would be to talk about it though.

edit - the more i look at the williams the more it amazes me!! i really hope this is a step toward strong top 6's... launch time has never been so exciting!! The merc is also pretty amazing, firstly, great job on the livery, secondly again they've managed to find so much space at the rear! Not looking at times yet, as long as the new cars can get some good mileage :)

I think it's the best livery in the most horrendous car. Ironic.

Mercedes looks like a platypus. But I like it. Livery reminds me of 1994 Benetton.

Williams... has a big piece missing. I think it looks a bit dodgy tbh, looks like if it took a big hit from behind it would just snap.

Red Bull, personally I think that's loads different from last year. There's no column on the rear wing, which is nice. It's sort of razor-sharpened up. Like.

It's interesting that a McLaren with well-known characteristics, F-duct and double deck diffuser is slower than RedBull which is just launched today..

They probably ripped the offending parts out, testing with them now will earn them nothing - double deck diffuser for example could change how the tyres work over a period of time.
