Nice and simple topic among all the title shenanigans

From the spectacular flamboyance of Gilles to the clinical calculated moves of Prost, what's your favourite overtaking manoeuvre in F1?

For all I dislike the bloke, for me it's probably Piquet's move on Senna at the Hungaroring in 1986. Slidey, slidey fun against one of the toughest drivers in F1.

For me, nothing will beat Kimi's move on Fisi on the last lap of Suzuka 05. Breathless and bravery from Kimi. He wasnt going for anything less than 1st place.

Mansell pulled off some crackers, particularly against Senna in Hungary 1989 and Piquet at Silverstone in 1987. My favourite(Certainly by Nigel, possibly of all time too) would have to be his fightback against Berger at Mexico in 1990. Epic stuff, basically scaring Berger sh*tless for a lap before the mesmeric pass into Peraltada.

Of course, you'd have to mention Mika on Schumacher via Zonta at Spa in any thread like this.

Rubens pulled off a series of great moves at Silverstone a few years back...

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

Fischella over Alonso and Hamilton last year was very good.
But I think the top 3 is: Hakkinen over M. Schumacher (Spa 2000), Montoya over M. Schumacher (Spa 2004), and Mansell over Berger (Mexico 1990) in that order.
Another good one is Coulthard over M. Schumacher in Brazil 2001.

Stats: 139 Starts / 7 Wins / 9 Poles / 5 Fastest laps

1. Suzuka 2005. 130R. Alonso on Schumacher. (That takes balls)
2. Suzuka 2005. Spoon. Raikkonen on Fisichella. (Last lap after starting from 17th - cracking stuff Raikkonen)
3. Montreal 2007. Final Chicane. Sato on Alonson (The only ever time we'll see a Super Aguri OVERTAKE a McLaren) :)

I really do like Piquet's on Senna as per the original post.

As mentioned as well, Mansell has had some amazing moves as well.

I think the classic battles between Villeneuve/Arnoux, and to a lesser extent, Kubica and Massa must also get a mention.

Also, Barrichello on Schumacher and Massa on Webber were pretty incredible moves for having the balls to go through with those moves.

For pure comedy it would have to be Enrique Bernoldi overtaking Schumacher's Ferrari in his Arrows.... not once but twice!

Best overtake of the last decade!

I can't remember too many that have stood out, apart from the famous Hakkinen and Schumacher ding dong at Spa all them years back.

Edit: Put in a multilingual version ;) Americans and Japanese sounds very excited, spanish seem very unimpressed ;)

Speaking of fightbacks, DC's pass on MS at Magny Cours in 2000 was pretty peachy. :D

A great pass, but made even better by the context it was in. Starting 2 laps down and coming back to win. One of the greatest sportscar drives ever.
