The Official 2010 Singapore Grand Prix Thread ***SPOILERS***

tough one idd... if anyone deserves a penalty is the Virgin for not moving and triggering the whole thing... Webber restart was very good but that Virgin kept him for 2 corners and Lewis bennefitted from it...
the're gonna need to analyze it very well because it didn't seem there was enough room for the two cars but it didn't seem as if Webber was running wide anyway...he looked pretty much in control. for me, a normal racing incident with of course Lewis suffering bad from it... very bad for his championship

Perfect race for the Championship, this is working out beautifully just now. Awesome race in general as well.
LOL at MS managing to wipe out both Saubers.

Kubica is just awsome!!

WOW. How stressful was that? That's everything F1 should be, utterly, utterly mint. Kubica was great today, as was Heikki's bonfire. Just awesome.
It took a while to liven up, but it was a great race in the end!

Singapore is truly a great race, and as the commentators mentioned, its the closest we have to an endurance race.

Its looking brilliant for Alonso now - driving well and car is fastest. Vettel did a good job as well, as did Webber not to lose his nerve.

Nice drives from Rubens and Kubica as well.

That was a fun finish... Good stuff from Alonso... Vettel will be kicking himself for fluffing it up in qualify. Good result for Webber despite being a bit out of sorts, and some nice overtaking but very lucky to finish when you look how far out his tyre bead was! Button still in there, but he needs to pull his finger out a bit now. Hamilton 2nd race in a row he retires after a collision, he was again a bit unlucky, it was a racing accident with Webber really... both could have given a bit more, and might want to take a look at Kubica's example on how to make it work

Good finish by Kubica... some good moves in there, took advantage of better grip after his puncture.

And Schumacher...... (puts palm on forehead.......giggles......rolls on floor laughing) He might want to go and accidentally reverse his scooter into the Sauber trucks...you know just to finish the job of.

Webber's wheel. :-O
Awesome race! Amazing drives from Alonso and Seb, genuinely something special. Good drives also from Mark - making the best of a so-so weekend to get a podium and collect more important points - and Jenson, doing a good job with what he had.

Lewis - second n00b-up in two races, took a silly risk when he didn't need to and paid the price.

Brilliant charge by Kubica at the end, particularly getting past Sutil.

Impressive bonfire on Heikki's Lotus - hello F1 1992! Shame it let him down though - he'd been epic all weekend, punching way above the car's weight. The fact he was managing to stay ahead of MS says it all really.

If Webber was trying to pass Lewis, then it's Webbers fault for not getting alongside enough. But Lewis was making the pass, and that doesn't count as clearing a car enough to chop over the front of them. Sometimes you can bully the other driver into slowing down and giving way, but you can't bully Webber.

Racing incident. Oh, and Martins right. Lewis said he didn't know he was there...but where was he going to be then?

And also, Lewis didn't need to cut him off, because he had the inside line for the next corner. It was a costly misjudgement, just as Monza was.

It reminded me of Zanardi's fire in 1994 - again in a Lotus ;) Don't remember which track though, Estoril maybe.

Edit: Might have been Lamy actually in 1993, can't find any pictures/footage.

Zanardi did that a couple of times..... or maybe more... think he did it at Imola once.

Bernie on BBC red button saying HD maybe coming next year!

You must be thinking of Imola 1993, when he reversed it into the wall on the approach to Traguardo and then drove off down the S/F straight with a huge fireball at the back and the left rear in the process of falling off... I remember that one too, quality moment :D
A while since we've seen a driver put out a fire on his car more or less by himself as well.

Edit: Actually Zanardi did have one race in '94 where he drove for a while with the back of his car on fire as well, think it was in France. It was something he kind of specialised in ;)

Excellent Race.
Alonso and Vettel were immense! In another race almost on their own out there!

Unlucky for Hamilton, he should have left more room knowing that Webber in a RedBull fighting for the championship wouldnt give up the inside that easily.

Championship is looking good! Nice and close!

Sutil's been given a penalty for going off track and gaining an advantage at Turn 7 on lap 1.

He's lucky that Alonso lapped Petrov on the last lap, otherwise he would have lost 10th as well.

EDIT: Force India have appealed the decision, and also protested Hulkenberg for a similar offense.

Who's the man? Heikki rules! :D
Yeah, he was on fire today.
Was an ok race that needed safety cars though to spice it up.

Alonso and Vettel drive outstanding races they were in a class if there own.

Mclaren cannot be happy with the pace of their car at all, their drivers are behind and they have the 3rd fastest car now but some way as well. Lewis on Webber 50/50 in my view, Lewis had to pass no where else to go other than put on the brakes. Webber could have avoided contact by braking earlier but he had no reason to and Lewis could have given more room. Its a shame it ended like that.

The championship is now really a 2 person one unless both alonso and webber fail to finish at the next race and lewis and button get a 1-2.

MS really does need to go he is just getting worse. I thought glock done well holding people back.
