I'm surprised they did absolutely nothing. I thought a bigger fine at least was in order.

It will certainly bring back the old FIA/Ferrari jokes again...

Anyone else think that if it was Mclaren that broke the rules they would be suspended from the championship all together...

the inconsistency of FIA stewards perplexes me, Ferrari should've at least got a fine.

Expected a larger fine, but anything more would have been out of order...

Doesn't surprise me at all TBH. If the FIA decide to punish severely, it's usually done sooner rather than later.

Some comment made on the radio today by Eddie Jordan strikes a chord, What happens if Alonso gets away scot-free and goes on to win [the title] by two points from whoever?

It was a very tough situation for the FIA - either biased towards Ferrari or a vendetta against them. They couldn't find the midpoint in my view.

Even if Ferrari didn't deserve penalty for the team orders rule, you could arguably say they brought the sport into disrepute, which is another rule break of course.

That was going to happen almost regardless, because the drivers weren't under investigation.

EDIT: Now there is a rumour that they actually did consider giving Alonso a 5 second penalty! Imagine the controversy if they did that! (source: James Allen on Twitter)

Dont blame FIA. They considered a 5 sec penality for Alonso, which would drop him back to P2, but WMSC decided against it.

The WMSC is the FIA though.

Meh.... they were never going to do anything though to be honest, and it would have suicidally brave to ban Ferrari from Monza :P

This now means Vettel can support Webber and Button Lewis when the time comes and no one can say a word.

It is a bit of a joke seeing Mclaren could not get points in Hungry when Alonso held up Lewis in the pits.

I love the way they say they will review the team order rule, in my view there is no longer a rule anyway.

Felipe Intercepts Alonso on track, We Must Sanction Cheats!

F-ducts, Engines, Revs, Racing, Action, Risks, International Disrepute.

Motivation, Calmness, Love of F1, Able to add good bits to the car and win title/s again, Really sophisticated, Energetic, No limit to how much time other teams have spent on F-Duct.

See what I did there!!! (FIA, WMSC, Ferrari and McLaren)

Ferrari Cheated and should have some sort of points deduction AND a much bigger fine.

Supporting has never been illegal. It's been said numerous times before, but I'll say it again. There's a difference between team orders and team tactics.

If you ask me, this deal was in aid of keeping the championship alive with Ferrari.

Changing this result dents Alonso's chances, and makes for a lesser exciting title battle.

Jenson drives it like he owns it; Lewis drives it like he stole it

Yeah know what you mean, but now they can just move the car out the way and not worry.

What is this Schreef thing?

Surprised by a complete lack of further penalty. I expected a larger fine, a switch of positions or a removal of constructors points (while allowing the drivers to keep theirs). Still, in the end, it's been happening since time began, both while banned and open - Ferrari's mistake was in being absolute cocks about everything related to it both during and after the race.

Still, it'll be interesting to see what will happen if other teams do the same for the rest of the season. They're going to look at changing the rules in the future, but for now everything is the same - switching driver position is against the rules. Will every instance be fined the same? Is there a chance of a ban should repeat offending or more obvious switching occur?

I almost hope we see more of it, just to see the reaction of Ferrari management and fans, and that of the stewards. ;)
