Yep but who knows what would have happened had he started in the right place :) This is what I mean.

The video has now gone but I think that is wrong as it was recorded by someone seeing the race.

He'd have been a metre further back.

This isn't like Hamilton at Valencia, with the whole "where would he have been had the stewards not been having a siesta". It's clear cut. He'd have been a metre further back than he was. How could it possibly be different? :\

I agree with Gav, lol.

He should have been punished at the time for a rules violation, but it didn't actually make a difference. In a way he's kinda lucky he didn't otherwise this'd be big deal.

Same thing happend in Monaco with Rubens Barrichello. When he crashed his car he throw out the steering wheel on the track were a HRT droven over it. But with all the things happend when MS did his overtake move under the safety car they all forget about Rubens and he got away with it.

So a penalty now when the FIA didn't even see it in the first place would be unfair in my opinion.

Its interesting the impact the fan video has had on this situation, just like in Fuji 2007.

Webber also missed his grid box in Bahrain (Legard noticed it), and yet there was no penalty or investigation - possibly due to the fact that there wasn't any definitive proof, like there was with the YouTube video in this case.

problem is, is there a penalty for that, does that exists?
i remember back in 2001, Malaysia.. Fisichella couldn't get his car in his starting box, so they did another formation lap and started the race... no penalty or anything...

Fia, Stewards, and people in charge apparently didn't notice Felipe's problem, so they couldn't reorganize the grid.... but technically a penalty doesn't exist for that anyway

I'd just leave it if I was a steward...he didn't gain anything from it so there's not much they can do. A small fine is probably the biggest punishment.

He ended up parked in the middle, diagonally across the track.

The best bit is that he's (Fisichella) done it twice - I can't remember where the other instance was though.

As I remember Fisichella did have to start from the back of the grid for the Sepang one.

Sepang 2003 was the other time he did it I believe, although he managed to reverse it back into the right slot that time. ;)

For all we know there could have been something on the track etc.

All I am saying is people say it made no difference but who really knows.
