that was the official line, but in my opinion, i think he was given a tap on the shoulder beforehand.

ferrari was ungrateful to the man who gave the team 1 victory last year, that saved the team from 1992-1993 blushes.
2009 belgian grand prix-what a race!Definitely one of the best races I have ever seen.

Kimi forever!

as stupid as it may sound but i also would have liked to see kimi this year in ferrari. that would have been great wouldnt it. Thats were Ferrari needed the 3rd car in my opionion but i would have kicked massa out (i like massa to but not as much as kimi and fernando and others but thats not the point). What i wanna say is that its a real shame kimi isnt around here in f1 he would gave so much thrilling performances like suzuka 2005 or something like that i miss kimi:(

what relevance has '92-'93 got with F1 in 2009 ans 2010? didn't Schumacher, Ross Brawn, Jean Todt, Rory Byrne, et al, save Ferrari from the blushes of those bad seasons already with their victories and championships?

I agree on those parts of your message. He wanted to finish his f1 career into ferrari, and that could be possible too.But probably Santander wanted Alonso, and they kept Massa(IMO he doesn't deserve to drive a ferrari. It's just because he's part of Ferrari since 2001)...

the 2009 Belgian GP wasn't that good at the front. the KERS system on the Ferrai robbed Fisichella's Force India of the win. without it, Kimi was no match for him.

so? without mercedes engine at the back of the force india, fisico wouldnt have been so great :D Kimi did drove that race brilliantly and ferrari was worse car on that track then force india was.fisico also did well indeed also.

it just felt cheap of Kimi to win using the KERS to pass Fisi, when he couldn't do it before the safety car closed them up. don't get me wrong, i'm a Kimi fan too and was happy he won, but it wasn't one of the best races i've seen.

There was no difference between that and Gilles winning in Jarama in 1981 - the plucky underdog keeping the faster car behind. ;)

Well done Kimi!

I just felt that Ferrari kind of owed that seat to Massa because of his accident.

I don't think they had the heart to kick him out after that.

I have no doubt in my mind, Kimi would have done a much better job than Massa this year, i've never rated him.

I know that I am a Massa fan, but I honestly can't see that they would have kicked Massa out after 2009, regardless of the crash.

In general, Massa outperformed Kimi in the 2nd half of 2008 as well as in 2009 up until his accident. Who knows what he could have done in the few races after his crash where the Ferrari was at its peak - especially at tracks like Hungary and Valencia where he had confidence from the year before.

2009 was evenly matched until the accident, yes Massa was in front in points but in qualifyings Kimi was faster (even at hungary massa was dropping out of top 10) . Massa was usually slower in qualifyings but got lucky when qualifying 11th and got advantage from the rules that he got fuelled as heavy as he could, this surely helped him in many races...but got to agree he generally did better in races but usually kimi was either right behind him or just in front, so they were pretty even.

Yup.

We all know Kimi is a more naturally talented driver but it was Massa who was doing the better driving at the time, and always showed he wanted to be there.

do you know why kimi got a win and lots of podiums after massa's crash?
simply,he could get a car for HIS driving style.
in 2008 he could won the wdc, but:
1-in monaco got penalised for pit error
2-in canada hamilton tried to fu*k him;)
3-in france the exhauts
4-at silverstone the wrong strategy

and in the late part of the season he complained the new suspensions brought by ferrari, that suited Felipe's driving style.then ferrari brought him the old suspensions, but was too late, but in fuji and china he was clearly able to fight for the win(or the 2nd place in shanghai).

his only problem is that he's been very unlucky, look in 2003-2005,but he was clearly better than massa(to me he's a bit overrated) IMHO.But ferrari anyway preferred him to kimi...

Never understood why in 2008 Ferrari developed the car in the wrong way as at the start of the season Kimi was leading the championship iirc, despite the poor mid season Kimi wasnt that far off Hamilton/Massa

Kimi never talked, is very hard to develop the car around him when his feedback is so limited, that's part fo the reason they got rid of him

no, this is just what people in public think, yet we also have other kind of information where team bosses and engineers tell full opposite and that Kimi gave very very good feedback, exampla Andrea Stella and Martin Withmarsh after last season said Kimi is very good giving feedback.2008 when things started going wrong with car developing around hockenheim there were no tests anymore after that so that did harm Kimi because he doesnt like simulator work. yet for exampla he did overcome the problems and f2007 at the end of the season did fit perfectly for him...and we can now see that even Fernando can't develop the car as well as said (heck he didn't even do this at Renault).
