Massa likes Bahrain, I'm touting him for victory regardless of whether or not the Red Bull makes it to the finish.

hmmm i just clciked on it, my Kaspersky claims tis website si infected with a trojan, beware
Massa is still the king of Bahrain with 3 victories but the problem he will have tomorrow is he start on the filthy side of the track, he could lose several places due that :-(
i don't see the start as important as holding tyres...

the first car to stop for tyres is done
Grid is going to hace 23 or 24 cars? and who would not taking part of the race?

24 cars, IF Chandhok's is ready to go. Neither HRT is likely to run the full distance, however.

Karun's performance was epic. It's not that's he's never turned a wheel in F1... his car hasn't. To get within 1.5 of his teammate (who hadn't run much either, but still) was a stunning performance against the odds.

All the new teams were much improved today.
Interesting session for sure. Not at all surprised to see Sebastian on pole or indeed Felipe out qualifying Fernando. What I do find surprising is how some people are struggling to understand how quick Massa really is. The expectation that Alonso would just blow him away in qually, proved to have no basis today.

The race is a different situation, no doubt, it will be very interesting to see how the top ten cars perform individually with the fuel loads and tires. A lot will depend on driving styles and reliability. Hopefully because of the extended track there will be little bunching which may make back markers less hazardous ............ but to tell the truth over all, I really would not know where to put my money the season is just too young but I believe we are all in for a thrilling spectacle this year.

i only want to correct you cause felipe only won twice(07,08). Qulay was quite good with fernando p3 (like 06:-) and Robert in 9 th proves to me that Renault is behind McLaren an Mercedes but not far away so i hope for a good race tomorrow

"And thats the bottom line cause Alonso0506 said so"
Alonso won twice at Bahrain as well (05, 06). So they are pretty evenly matched :)

Yep you are right, but it will be 3 times after tomorrows race :-)
I think tomorrow's race is going to Vettel. Dude was impeccable all through qualy.
True, BUT, the RBR cars are hard on the tires

Yep, alonso0506 is correct, Massa's only won twice at Sakhir so far.

What a performance from him in quali though! Any fears he hadn't fully recovered from his injury can be completely banished now. He looked 100% on it in each session.

Amazing pole lap from Vettel! Another epic lap at the last moment, something that's becoming classic Vettel TBH. Brilliant.

McLaren and Mercedes both look like they're struggling a bit in quali trim, and they haven't unlocked the full pace of their cars yet. LOL at MS checking out just about everything involving rival teams that could be taken on board as he went from parc ferme to be weighed - leopards and spots. :D

Great effort by both HRT drivers - and by that whole team so far this weekend.

A bit surprising maybe to see Lotus and Virgin struggling so far too after their performance in testing, but their cars are still relatively early on in the development timeline, so they also have bigger scope for improvement than the top teams.

Impressed muchly with kubica and sutil, force India in general have done well.

As for HRT, the 107% time would have been 2:02.088 so they both would have been DNQ. But it's early days and they were only a couple of seconds off. Todt just wants the rule reintroduced so Ferrari can prove the world right about the new teams being substandard.

Pretty much agree with everything there. Like Martin Brundle said, Kubica has the potential to a dark horse and mess everything up for the big four established teams.

From what I've heard Rubens Barrichello is in a good position to score some solid points with all the Q3 drivers except Sutil starting on the soft tyre.
Having completely missed qualifying, what are the new rules?

Are there any empty tank runs still?

Is qual 3 run with full tanks or low fuel?

Q3 is low-fuel, soft tyres, balls-out as it should be!

I thought so, wouldn't make sense running full tanks and qualifying.

So are you only allowed to use one type of tyre in q3, hard or soft?

Or can you choose both, and your quickest time, is the tyre you have to use for the firs stint?
