Yeah, but for all we know, Lola, Eplison, and Prodrive may have a car and be ready to race. But I doubt that, but it's possible :)

(N) :( I really wanted to see them somehow pull through, even up until an hour or so ago.

Like some other folks, I too feel for the workers, not only are they out of work, I'm sure many (if not all) would have been really excited to participate on the big stage of world motorsport... Just sad that no-one has stepped in like in the case of Manor and Campos.

Dan Knutson speaking to Ken Anderson a few months back:

I spoke to Anderson and asked him why a F1 team based in the US would work when every other F1 team is located in Europe. "It is working and it will work because the United States is the best country in the world for actually getting things done," he said." In terms of machinery, software, hardware, most of the bits on any F1 car are actually either directly from the US or are a trickle down from the American aerospace industry.

"People in Europe don't realise how easy it is to get things done in the US, from building things to the whole infrastructure of machine shops and composite shops.

Well it should not take long now for Stefen GP to get their entry.

They will probably be the fastest new team seeing they are using a Toyota car, engine and gear box.

@ rapid_f1 - I remember that quote!! In fact, I think it was posted on this forum back then and I poured scorn on it. If anyone has the patience to go gravedigging for that thread, I'm positive we'll find some great ironic comments lol.

Easy to laugh at the failure, but it's devastating for the workforce. According to Autosport, not only are they not doing work and not getting paid, but they're still technically employed (so presumably they can't just up sticks and walk into a new job without going through the inevitable sea of red tape associated with many jobs, let alone a high-tech motorsport one).

I do hope this does not damage the reputation of Peter as I really liked his interviews in the pits.

Does Peter Windsor have a good reputation?
I don't know the guy, but I got the impression he isn't very well liked?
He has been a bit evasive with all of this business though, hasn't he?

bad news, i wonder what consequences this will bring.... i doubt they'll get an entry for 2011 but who knows?

hopefully an anouncement on Stefan will be made soon

i hope they let them test their cars at least for 2 days, otherwise is not going to be pretty out there, same for Campos, apparently they're launching their team/car on thrusday...

it will purely be because then the employees will have to leave, so they wont have to lay them off and pay redundancy

Yes, but I'm not mocking the workforce - I'm mocking the team management and particularly the quotes of confidence they have come up with over their past few months of failure. I understand that the workforce is badly affected by it, but it's not something I'm taking aim at.

Lola had a 2010 car almost ready, but I doubt they would risk doing another 1997 ;)

Anyway, very disappointing from Anderson and Windsor in particular. Not only did they scupper any merger with Stefan, they also didn't bother to show up to announce the team was closing: "It is understood that neither Anderson nor Windsor were present at the factory while the announcement was made, and neither was available for comment about the latest situation." USF1 still looking at 2011 [www.autosport.com]

I don't know, going to be difficult to see how the FIA will grant them entry, I think we'll have to wait and see what happens between now and the cut-off date for next year's entries.

Well if they can prove they are the best entry, then they should get it. But I strongly doubt they can get a better entry together than Lola, Prodrive, Epsilon Euskadi and whoever else wants to join, especially with the reduced credibility from this current disappointment affecting any sponsors or investors.

What a farce - for a country so big and a world superpower, which prides itself on being THE world leader, what a joke that they can't even build an F1 car!!! Laughable.
