it is sad, i wanted to see them to see what they where going to come up with

but at this point FIA needs to make a decision with the head

nothing guarantees Campos and USF1 to complete a season even if they managed to enter at some point, nothing guarantees that they will make a car ready to race at the moment

and bieng fair, the serbians seem to have better backing and a bit more organized structure.. with government backing they could make it at least till the end of the season

there's no point in letting teams in if they will be out in the short term, but at the same time USF1 and campos are the one with the granted entry...

any news on Whiting?, this will sort out a lot of things, and hopefully give Stefan GP a exception to test their car

Nah, Campos will make it. They're on the verge of signing Chandhok, you see.

Surely if Stefan are given an exception to test their car before Bahrain then surely Campos should be given that exception too? Even if it's only on safety grounds, you surely can't allow an untried and untested car to be expected to turn up and race.

Apparently Stefan's cargo, that supposedly was already in Bahrain, actually isn't there...

Not looking good for more than 24 cars then, at least for the start of the year.

It's worrying how none of you checked the Stefan GP website, where everyone has got it from :P

Speaking of SGP, I wonder if they know what season they're racing in, look at the copyright info at the bottom of the screen...

stefan are creating a team with no guarantee that they will race

lola and prodrive ave nothing to sue for, had they done the same they would've been in a position to race

Stefan is relyin in the hope that USf1 won't make it and won't be ready.. i think that's the reason why Whiting went to Charlotte, NC

if USF1 fails, meaning won't be ready now or in the grace period (3 races apparently) then FIA will consider the next in line i suppose, the only team at the moment seems to be Stefan, unless Prodrive and Lola have been putting a car and team together and we haven't been informed

FIA can't just sit and wait for USF1 until, IF they manage to build a car/team to race

lola and prodrive are not even in a waiting list. and even if they where, they're deffinetly not ready.

apprently some head members of USF1 are not being realistic about their chances racing this season. some people inside the team know they won't race... the best thing to do, for the beneffit of the sport is to give up the entry, waiting until last minute to say they're not ready is disrespectfull imho, and if they know they won't be able to finish the season then i think they should do it now.

They have everything to sue for. Regardless of readyness, where its widely known that Prodrive were in a very strong position with good infrastructure and people in place, all these teams had to go through the tendering process set out by the FIA. Now Stefan GP is supposedly semi-ready why should it be any different? How is it that fair to the 4 or 5 companies that didn't make it through the appropriate processes, all the while for Stefan GP to show up and just been given the green light because they happen to be there?

so they'll sue because is not fair?, theres no case there

USF1 won't race this year, should FIA just wait for them?, for the "bennefit" of the sport, Stefan should get an entry and i'm sure a clause somehow will get them in

i'm no expert but i suppose FOM and FIA have contract with the tracks to put 26 cras on the grid, apparently only 22 will be at Bahrain, FIA shouldn't accept Stefan because is not fair for teams that lodgged and requested an entry last year?

There's nothing to stop the FIA opening applications to tender with one week to go before the start of the season. In those circumstances, everyone (including ProDrive, Lola, etc.) will have the opportunity to submit an entry to the 2010 World Championship. It will all be completely fair.

However, there will only be one team capable of submitting a tender to race, because there is only one team ready...

exactly, they should've sue back then...

Formula 1 is a private sport, governed by FIA...... i doubt they have a case if they feel Stefan Gp is getting an unfair entry

Ok so say USF1 today pull out of 2010 F1.

The FIA open up a spot for a team to take it, should they be ready.

Who else is ready? There is just one team, StefanGP, who, at the right time and moment, made some quick and good choices. Now, their rewards could be worth that gamble.

There wasn't a place for grabs back then, but they risked it and invested in buying old Toyota stock, staff and chassis pieces. Back then it was worthless, there was no vacancy, it was all theory.

Nothing stopped ANY of the other potential entries, be it Lola, Prodrive, Espresso Audi or whatever they are called buying into BMW, or Toyota or whatnot. Or making their own car. Stefan did.

So there really is nothing to sue about for the other potential teams. If they open up the entry spot now, for ANYONE to take, lets be realistic here, who is going to be granted it?

On the basis of fairness, nobody but StefanGP can take that spot in the real world.

If USF1 go out, I do surely hope that these serbian guys get a chance. Everyone loves an underdog. Heck, there are enough backmarkers now to make it an entertaining scrap behind, let alone the front of the field!

On another note, I wonder if StefanGP would rename as something like United Serbian F1 or Ultimate Stefan F1 to hash over the USF1 namesake place.
