They r asking to miss 4 races

ESPN F1

PITPASS

i know teams are allowed to miss i think 3 races per season but not 4

in my veiw sadly to say since they can`t get them selves ready pluss the fact they had a much longer time than the other 3 teams to get ready i say let stefen gp in place of them since they say they are ready to race

Defer USF1's entry till 2011 when they should be fully ready in time. Letting them miss the first four races would devalue the championship and, to be fair, they've always known when the championship started. Lotus managed to do it in an even tighter timeframe and with changes in the regulations too so that's no excuse either. Maybe if they hadn't been mouthing off about how well they were doing and how they were going to make Bahrain then I might have more sympathy for them, but to mislead all of us F1 fans with their false hopes and progress videos was just stupid and disrespectful.

If Stefan GP are as ready as they say they are then give them the slot right now so they can start testing! Then again, this is the FIA and F1 governance. They're bound to make another monumental cockup somehow...

I don't think they should even be allowed in then. If there are entries open for 2011, why should US-F1 get another chance. Give it to Lola, Epsilon Euskadi etc.

FIA should've given the place to Prodrive in the first place.

It's a joke... first race, or no race!

Or at least they should be heavily fined!

People have paid good money expecting to see them race, they cant just decide not to turn up because they cant do their job right. if they dont make it to Bahrain, then they break the concorde and so should be punished. How about send Windsor to max's place?

And where exactly is the money going to come from if they get a big fine?

Thats their problem

They've entered in a championship and must abide by the rules. Its as simple as that.

It could be a suspended fine, such as Toyotas. TF entered under the concorde, quit so now next time they enter the F1 championship they have to pay a little more than just the entry fee ;-)!

I get your point, but don't forget Prodrive failed to make it on to the grid in 2006 (?) when they were given an entry, so perhaps that isn't the best example.

Should have given the place to Epsilon Euskadi. What engines where Epsilon gonna use? Because wasn't one of the 'entry requirements' that the new teams had to use Cosworth engines?

I'm feeling more human than most here. While I'm not disputing any of the points made above, USF1 must have quite a few employees (presumably somewhere between 50 and 100 and plenty more through companies who have contracts with USF1), the majority of which will have had no idea of any scheduling problems or the complete mess put in place by those upstairs. Yes the place should have been given to someone with a half decent chance of being on the grid in the first place (Prodrive, Epsilon, etc), but that decision has long passed.

There'll be plenty of people at USF1 who are slugging away without much hope, and it's them that I feel sorry for.

The only sensible decision, if you take the tiny knock of reputation out of things, is to give the USF1 spot to Stefan and, if there is space, allow USF1 the time to get their act together and only enter once they are ready - be that at the end of the season or at the start of the European season (which isn't going to happen - they have no drivers and their main backer has left).

Are we presuming that Campos will now be ready for Bahrain? Unless they've had the chassis for a while (but refused permission to use them until money turned up), then it's a hell of a job to get everything ready in the remaining 2 and a half weeks.

Just saw this on Adam Cooper's blog, there is a talking about a USF1 and Stephan GP merging (is it right the way I wrote this sentence?):

Just to add to what Rocker posted and provide a different angle entirely, the Beeb is led to believe that USF1 is on the verge of collapse.

If they really are two months behind, how come its taken them this long to enquire about missing four races? I would say hand the place over to StefanGP, but they're not even race ready yet either.

I think Meta or Campos (don't know how it will be called) won't be ready either... that's so sad... We wanted a 26 car grid :(

I really had high hopes for USF1, it's sad to see things aren't going well for them at all. :(
