Yes Algarve is a great track and not designed by Tilke. But there are more recent tracks not designed by him, Dubai from the top of my head. Still, Algarve is a very good and nice track, I saw FIA GT there, awesome racing, just epic. But for f1, well, I think they would make it boring. The problem isn't the tracks in most cases, its the cars. Turkey has an epic big straight leading into a narrow hairpin, yet there is nearly no overtaking, same goes for China, which isn't a bad track either, same story for Malaysia and Bahrain (although Malaysia/China aren't bad, I hate Bahrain, while Turkey is an epic track).

Money, i think.

But yes, it would be fantastic if they replaced Barcelona or Valencia with Algarve. With so many new countries coming on or trying to get on the calendar, we shouldn't have one country (Spain) with two races.

Is that it? Sheesh, talk about anti-climax. :( I thought it was supposed to go through a hotel or something? It didn't.

The only cool part is the pitlane exit...the rest looks really bland.

It goes under it at 2:19

It was never going to go through the foyer or anything ;)

LOL! Go past the hotel, but don't check in.

There is a casino in Las Vegas which has a rollercoaster dipping in through the roof and going through the ground floor of the casino/hotel.

I know there are more safety issues with F1 cars speeding around, but it's not too far-fetched to expect at least a little section of the track to be indoors.

wasn't there meant to be a bit where the track went under one of the grandstands - the runoff area or something.

it looks boring BUT he was hardly flooring it and I'm not convinced that's the F1 layout.

it doesn't even look like a street circuit, it's just a normal circuit with buildings around it.

It is there, at the end of the first back straight. It seems to allow the spectator/s to be closer to the action, which is good.

Check the F1 website, you can see that it is the F1 layout. They wouldn't change the layout at this late stage, you would think.

Its not a street circuit, it was going to be semi-permanent, but they decided to just make it a permanent one instead.

Interesting that Coulthard doesn't agree with you all heh...He said that its not like a typical Tilke track and that it reminds him of a street circuit as there are few run offs. He generally liked it as well it seems hmm

Coulthard works for Red Bull, who have a major sponsorship deal with the circuit. He isn't going to say anything bad about it at all. Brundles only positive point seemed to be the pit lane.
