i´ll wait until Brazil GP to be sure

EDIT: listened somewhere RB was leaving Brawn if Button was going to continue in the team, so, if RB goes to Williams... thath means JB is in Brawn?

Rubens surely doesn't want to wait for Ross and Jenson to settle their dispute over Jenson's salary so he may be better off guaranteeing a drive for 2010 with a decent team.

Considering JB is almost certainly going to be Champ this year(and frankly I wish he'd get his ass in gear and finish it off, I'm fed up watching his agonising stumble towards the winning line), it would be very surprising if he's not driving for Brawn next year.
Continuity, and a proven package.

I would cite Damon and Williams as an example of why your logic isn't always correct, but IIRC they had signed HHF before he started driving well ;)

Well there are key differences between the Damon/Williams situation and the Jenson/Brawn one anyway IMO, which are in Jenson's favour. But given that Rubens is clearly leaving, it makes good sense for Brawn to keep hold of one driver who's both experienced and familiar to them, and who's capable of doing a decent job.

The rumour ive heard is that Frank is also taking a keen eye on how the Button situation progresses.

Its no lie that Frank holds Jenson in high regard and im sure Frank would welcome Jenson with open arms.

This whole Button and pay thing has been blown out of proportion IMO. What ive heard is that given the success of the team all he wants is his previous deal before 09. Apparently this year Rubens was also being paid a little bit more than Jenson. From what I hear its not that Jenson was a Kimi salary, just what his old deal was. But these are issues which will always crop up. Im sure that both Brawn and Jenson would prefer if they stayed partners long-term so whatever these issues are they will no doubt be solved. If not, and if it was a case of Jenson being greedy then rightfully so Brawn should not sign him, but I doubt that is, or will be the case.

A spokesperson for Rubens Barrichello has denied suggestions the Brazilian veteran has already signed with Williams for 2010.

The 37-year-old, not only the oldest active driver in F1 but also the most experienced in the history of the sport, is still in contention for the 2009 title but reported to be likely to leave the Brawn team after the Abu Dhabi finale.

Specialist reports have said his move to replace Williams' departing Nico Rosberg is all but signed, but a spokesperson said it is "only speculation", according to the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper.

"We do not have anything to say about that," the official added.

"Season 2010 is not one of the things that we are deciding upon now."

However, the same source admitted that Barrichello is in talks with "several teams" in addition to Williams and Brawn.

That seems like just normal talk to not take away focus. Luciano Burti said that a Williams employee confirmed the deal. I hope to see a Senna Foundation "S" somewhere on the helmet! :D

Nico Rosberg has added to Rubens Barrichello's denial that Williams has now settled on a driver line-up for next season.

It is heavily rumoured that the German and Brazilian drivers are set to swap seats at the end of this season, with Rosberg headed to Brawn and the Brazilian veteran to fill his spot at the Grove-based team. Brazilian media reports this week said the deals are done.

"I have spoken with Frank Williams and I know that absolutely nothing has been completed," Rosberg is quoted by the EFE news agency as having said in Sao Paulo ahead of this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix. Barrichello however admitted that talks are taking place.

"I haven't signed any papers, but that it's true there are talks with Williams and with Brawn, there's no doubt," said the Brawn driver.

In the midst of a title fight with his team-mate Jenson Button, he indicated he is delighted with his current situation, after his future appeared particularly dim prior to the 2009 season.

"Today I feel very honoured that there are teams trying (to sign me) and that my situation is a lot better than for some time," Barrichello said.

Who knows! I should think he will go to Williams but they are keeping it water tight for now.

So if the option came up and Button left Brawn due to lack of money (which is the only real reason for leaving i feel) sure Frank Williams would take Jenson or Rubens any day.

But shush from me :P

If Button did leave Brawn based on money, i think Toyota or Renault would be able to offer him more than Williams anyway.

If Barrichello goes to Williams, its rumoured to be quite a substantial pay rise compared to his current Brawn deal.

Toyota and Renault arent in a position to battle with cash, Toyota F1 have admitted its going to be tough to get enough cash from the board just to run the team as it is next season and Renault arent exactly in a position with pretty much zero sponsorship.

Toyota still seemed to be chasing Raikkonen and Kubica though, and to do that, they know they will need money.

I recall Howett saying that if they did sign a big-name driver, they would just cut down in other areas.
