im the 70s we didnt have tire change and refuelling... there wasnt pit stops, and racing was the best ever... The only thing I hope is not to see cars (and drivers) trapped in flames :(

The 70s didn't have cars made of carbon fibre, fuel tanks made of Kevlar, auto-cutting of fuel lines and automatic fire extinguishers either. We should be fine.

Exactly... the risk of fuel-related fires will be much lower next year.

re-fueling wasn't used from 1983 through till 1993 either. We had 3 fuel fires in 3 years after the re-introduction of it. (Irvine, Verstappen, Diniz).

Its simply a basic model to understand the regulations and it will be made so that bits could be easily added/taken away so they can investigate various concepts. Dont take this even as a gauge to what the car will be.

Red Bull have confirmed that Cosworth power is definitely an option for them. The article suggests that Merc power isn't an option as McLaren has vetoed the move.

i hope they use renault engines then, because i still can't see the cosworth engine being quite as good as the other ones.

Cosworth have got the chance to properly tune their engines throughout the season whereas the other manufacturing teams don't. Could be a good move if thought out correctly

The engine was still under FIA sanction. So no performance upgrades as such, but the same things as what other teams were allowed. However not being in race conditions I still believe the engine may not be aswell developed as the others. I dont think it will be a noticable difference though, it wont be the worst one out there.

Williams are considering cossie based on the dyno results apparently, you'd assume because of that and leaving Toyota that the cossie is better than the Toyota.

I really don't get why people still have faith in Cosworth. When the V8 engines were introduced, people said that the engine was going to be great, yet it wasn't one of the best. It has never convinced me that it's a good engine, or it has to have been held back massively by the cars it was in (seeing as most of its customers were backmarker teams, other than those I can only remember Williams being a partner). It's just a mediocre engine, an engine you'd choose when you have no other options left.

Rumours have it that Bruno Senna is signed with Campos

Would be a risky move, but we obviously don't know what other offers he has got.

Apparently it's had very good results so far, and it wasnt that terrible in the Williams, the 06 car was more the problem. You also have to remember, which I forgot about till someone reminded me the other day, is that the rev limit is now around 3k less than what the original block was designed for, which is handy.

I found that out from Bruno

(Castello I mean ;))

Which could mean, he's gone off the whole Piquet Jr idea.

mclaren holding up the supposed red bull mercedes option - and talks of webber loosing his seat to kimi are resurfacing. what you think to webbo playing no.2 to lewis at mclaren, and kimi going to red bull to keep sweet the mercedes deal?

Webber would be a good option for McLaren, but I can't see him allowing himself to become a No.2. Even when asked this weekend about whether he would help Vettel, he said no. Obviously when push came to shove I'm sure he would, but its still an unusual statement to make.
