Spa had its license revoked today after noise complaints went to court. The circuit is currently closed until it can be sorted. Expecting the motorsport sites to carry the news when the editors wake up this morning.

Noise complaints, sight, the circuit is there before the people! $*@#*@*#* You don't go and life next to a busy road and then complain about the noise it makes?

Weren't there similar complaints about Monza a few years ago? Hopefully the precedent set there will carry over to Spa.

Somebody should just go and shoot all those nose up people.

Kimi, so, Massa Fernando Sebastian is faster than you. Can you confirm you understood that message?

Why am I not surprised...I'd have hope for Spa, since it is a historically significant track, but this kind of thing is just going to become more and more common.

Not a surprise really tbh, Brands Hatch has had similar problems in the past.

It's not surprising considering how stupid people can be. There was an interview on the local news over here in the UK about Birmingham International Airport getting a second runway and the local residents opposed to it:

The reporter: So, you are against the second runway?
Local Resident: Yes I am
The reporter: What is the reason for your position?
LR: It'll make the area too noisy and there is no need for it.
TR: The authorities say that due to increasing air traffic the extra runway is needed to cope with demand
LR: I don't care, this is my house
TR: Okay, just wondering where do you go on holiday and how do you get there?
LR: I go to America, by plane.

Its been there what 50+ years, before them probably!!

And people are complaining for noise?

Poeple are strange.

edit - I declare you can only move within 10miles of a racetrack if you like motor racing. Same goes with airports!!! If not? piss off somewhere else to complain about something, not near our race tracks!!

Terrible news!

Hopefully the idiot residents will allow them to at least have one or two weekends of racing per year (F1 and Spa 24 Hours are the 2 main events i can think of off the top of my head)

Why don't we all club together and offer a house-share initiative? When the F1's on, all those silly Belgians can come and spend a week in the UK (or wherever y'all are), whilst we go and get our very own trackside chalets for the Grand Prix event.

Why can't government's impliment a "Don't Be Supid" policy? Specifically catered for issues of this nature!

Why so much violence, people? It's simple. Go out on the streets with some plastic bags and collect all the dog poo you can. At home, lightly wrap a few together using kitchen plastic wrap, set off to Spa, locate homes and work on that pitching arm. Biological warfare!

Oh that's not true. In my place there is a busy road and a new neighbourhood was built. People who moved into that neighbourhood are now complaining about the noise it makes. The road has been resurfaced with new tarmac, roundabouts have been built to bring the speed down and the speed limit has been lowered from 80kmh to 70kmh. It's ridiculous. All that money could have been spent on something far more important such as education because some people who can't think are selfish. The same goes for this case. People who can't think are taking money away because people will lose their job since F1 can't be there. All that because people are selfish. As my urban planning teacher said 'The government listens too much to complaints. If you don't like the place you live in, then get the hell out'.

Mute Association?

ROFLMAO! ;)

Perhaps the gov't there should've muted them.... Okay, that was bad.

But in all honesty, you live next to one of the most beautiful, well known, and historic racing venues in the WHOLE WORLD. Right here, its ~400 Miles to the nearest world class racing circuit (Indy), and LOTS of people who would like to be closer to a circuit like that are even further away. What's next, bulldozing Nords for a shopping mall? (Okay, that would never happen. If they tried that could you imagine how big of a public outcry world round (And in Germany alone - you guys are nuts when it comes to cars)

Ungrateful B*#*!@#@s.

The Flanker is gone. :(

The same way people protest about noise why don't the citizens with sense protest about those filing complaints?

Seems to me that some residents around SPA look for a way to get a slice from the "money" pie...
So, I shall not be surprised if they come to an agreement with SPA management to be paid reimbursements for the noise levels they suffer of...
It's probably all about money.
