Which is just another way of saying that he'll not be working with Briatore anymore, but not really ;)

Ferrari has always praised Kimi, at the end of the day he won the championship in 2007 for them, there's no hard feelings there

but i want to wait and see what they say from Alonso once he does the first test with them

I just hope he doesn't go to Toyota. I doubt they'll be able to deliver a championship winning car for next year. Kimi's best bet still seems to be McLaren. In a Q&A today at formula1.com, Martin Whitmarsh was full of praises for Kimi, so hopefully it happens.

At least it sounds like he would rather stay in F1 than do anything else.
If he doesn't go to McLaren and it turns out Lewis had something to do with blocking his move there, Lewis will go down greatly in my estimation - both as a driver and as a person.
He should be relishing the opportunity to have Kimi as a teammate, not bitching at it.

i'm sure he is. he's said before he wants a team-mate who can push him to his limits. who better than the guy who beat him to the championship?

Yes I think he should have kimi as well but he would not be the 1st driver to turn down a team mate. Prost, Senna, MS, Alonso have all done the same thing.

But it sounds more like Kimi is going to Brawn or RBR. Webber has to sign a new contract as his is no longer valid as it was drawn up by Flavio.

Raikonnen and Vettel?!

BRING IT ON!

If Raikonnen goes to Brawn then I hope Rosberg does too, that would make a good combination too.

I dont think it would have happened had Webbers contract not need to be done again. If it happens it will be very tough on Webber, but he has not had a good 2nd half to the year.

Kimi went well in Newey cars last time, plus they might have a Merc engine.

well, kimi's manager was seen in the red bull motor home, and then he announced they've been talking to teams who weren't currently looking for drivers next year..hense red bull..so...it's possible

Yes its very possible as I said Webber has no contract and is having to do another one, so RBR only have Vettel at the moment.

That contract was signed in July.

Whats being said though is that the contract was signed with Flavio who is no longer his manager, so the contract is no longer valid.

This is getting silly.

"Webber is leaving Red Bull"
"He has a contract"
"No he doesn't!!!"
"Yes he does."
"Well it was signed with Flavio, so now he doesn't!!"

What next? If it's signed under a full moon with less than 15 days of the given month gone, it isn't a contract?

The facts:

Webber signed with Red Bull.
Red bull stated they are keeping Webber and Vettel for 2010.

All that can be said is F1 contracts are bought out easily.

Its likley that Kimi is speaking to RBR, but the chances of him signing and very slim.

If anything it's more likley he will end up at STR!!

My bet is still on Mclaren.

btw - interesting to hear Romain might also be replaced...

"Trulli was slowing down like he wanted to have a picnic" LOL

Why would it matter that Briatore is not Webber's manager anymore? Prima facie, I can't think of any reason why Flavio not being Webber's manager would annul the contract. Even if Briatore had drawn it up, the contract agreement should be between Webber and Red Bull. Both are able to perform their contractual duties without Briatore. The only thing I can think of that is affected by Briatore's absence would be the 20% cut Briatore gets for being manager, but that might have been dealt with under an entirely separate contract between Webber and Briatore, independent of Red Bull. And even if it was part of the Red Bull contract, it wouldn't be enough to make the contract void as that condition does not impede either party from fulfilling their duties, so the clause will simply be cut out and the contract is still valid.
