BMW have apparently called an emergency press conference for tomorrow morning - rumour has it they're going to confirm they are pulling out of F1 at the end of the year.

When you look at what they've thrown at this year and where they've ended up, can't say I'm in the least bit surprised.

Got to be honest, although at first they looked like they were going to become the 'fun' team in F1 (the pitlane park at the races, Nick at the Nordschleife, etc.), recently they've become very boring and corporate to me. Almost like another team that you didn't realise was there until you saw the results.

Let's see which team this might open the door for. Epsilon Euskadi, anyone?

Lets wait for tomorrow morning and see. I really hope that's not the case :( their overall plan was going really well until the 2009 regs, and especially KERS, didn't work out for them.

What would happen to Heidfeld and Kubica?

Are they under contrast for next year? If so, unless they have a change-of-ownership clause in their contract, I guess they would potentially have their contracts sold with the team if the team can be sold.

What now??? Geoff Willis to buy the team and pull out another BrawnGP??? LOL
This is very bad for F1........What's gonna happen with that team??? How about the drivers??? Kubica to replace Massa at Ferrari???
All in all, I think this is what happens when there are so many manufacturer teams......Another reason why FOTA would have never worked................

I hope Peter Sauber makes the team his own again, they never really set the world alight, but Sauber were my favourites.

Not sure if the drivers can just leave like that... They are probably pulling out after this season, so that would leave BMW also without any drivers. Don't think they are going to let Kubica and/or Heidfeld leave, and put Klien and Asmer in their cars...

I bet Kubica would jump ship right now........Additionally, he seems to have some bonds with Italy.......It's just pure speculation.....a crazy thought!!! LOL

Once again, if this is true, proof that manufacturers should not have any right to determine the rules or revenue direction of F1.

They will come when it suits them, and leave when it doesn't.

Due to the voting system in Germany, Governments are always made up of coalitions of different parties. At the last election, an almost unprecidented result saw the CDU/CSU (rough equivilant of the Conservatives) go into Government with the SPD (rough equivilant of Labour)

Was that sarcastic?

It will be nothing short of a miracle if this USGP even gets a car to the grid imo.

If true about BMW this is bad bad news. After general progression towards the top they looked certain to be in the ranks of top teams in the next few years. Hopefully the team are able to keep the title sponsors and at least have a budget fit to race.
