well if the redbull cars had kers, then they likely wouldnt even be in the place they are. they problably wouldnt be in the position to challenge the kers cars, hense thats why they went without kers. so the situation with whether they overtake or not is there own fault, (ie they cant pass a kers car, but at least they are close since they arnt using kers, otherwise they may well be way further back in the grid). Kers has its advantages, and Redbull has its advantages not having kers. thats how their car is built. people keep forgeting that, the teams with kers are looking long term, and are suffering for a bit now, while teams like Brawn are taking advantage of the rules which say they dont have to use KERS this year to go fast for now, but will no doubt suffer next season when kers is compulsary and they dont have the experience with it like teams like renault and mclaren will have.
I heared a quote from a ex F1 driver who said "driving in monaco is like ride a bike inside your house" or something like that. the thing is... ANYONE KNOWS WHO SAID IT??

Nelson Piquet

At least it was the good one :)

I think it was flying a helicopter in your own house, not riding a bike :P

How come they have two practice sessions on Thursday and one on Saturday, what do they do on a Friday??

The practice sessions have always traditionally been on a Thursday so that the streets can be reopened to the public on the Friday. I imagine the idea is that it lessens the general disruption to residents/visitors over the race meeting.

They close the main streets for the race, it really screws up traffic. The biggest attractions in Monaco are around the closed parts and any normal person can drive around the track if they want, only difference being chicane after the tunnel, the Casino turn (the F1 line goes wrong way on the valet parking of the hotel there), and the final corner where you'd have to go wrong way and across 2 lanes/lights.
to quote a NYTimes.com blog, first practice sessions are on Thursday to make people spend more time and money in Monaco

I think I heard it was something to do with a national holiday that falls upon Monaco on Thursdays of an F1 weekend

Thursday is Ascension Day, which is a public holiday in monaco.

i think they have practice on thursday as it will lessen the impact of having all the roads closed if everyone in monaco has the day off too.
